Have you ever gotten someone fired and how did you feel about it after?

Last year I made friends with this guy at work but it didn't take long for me to notice his strange behaviour. He started acting really flirty with me and my friend was quick to call it out. She said "stop flirting with her she's engaged". I was super embarrassed as I hate confrontation and instead pretended I didn't know what my friend was talking about when she said that as he denied trying to flirt with me.

After that we remind friends but it felt like he was only using me for a good gossip. I'd tell him things and he'd twist them and tell everyone at work and then tell them it was me who told him making me look two faced and untrustworthy. When I confronted him about this he'd say "well you didn't say I couldn't tell anyone" when it's pretty obvious you don't do that. Everyone gossips but we don't drop the person who told you in it.

Then he started just being nasty sometimes he'd talk to me like shit and say really nasty stuff about people. He was also taking photos of a learning disabled person at work and sharing it around to people to make fun out of him. He also kept making a tone of lies up about himself and others

This really upset me and I blocked him on everything. He told everyone at work but we fell out and pretty much started a war with me. He'd get his friends to harass me at work and listen to my conversations with my friends and report back to him.

One of his friends told me to get the f out his way and called me a snitch and accused me of getting this lad fired when he was actually just on holiday. Then another one of his friends went around the company telling people she wanted to hurt me physically and by the sounds of it he's told people a pack of lie about me to make himself look the victim when I've just not spoken to him at all.

He also got a knife out on someone else at work but managed to get away with it because cctv didn't catch it.

I eventually had enough and told thr mangers everything now he's due for a meeting tomorrow

The mangers have been trying to fire him for ages and I gave them the pictures he was sharing of this learning disabled man and told them about the harassment. He's having a meeting for gross misconduct tomorrow and the union have basically told him he's fucked. I think he deserves everything he gets and is a scum bag but I still don't want to be that person and been known as a snitch. What if I lead him to being a even more terrible person because of this

This was the right response. He is endangering others if he endangers himself or many more he will need immediate intervention assistance- therapy.

Something is not right with him, and his ways is not your fault.

You not only helped yourself and your innocent and neutral colleagues, you stopped the whole organization from having a group within who would bully and make this job misery for anyone who would join later on. They’re behaving horribly and immaturely.

If the rest give you any problems, make sure to report, report, report!

Never keep hostile people like that within areas you share with them and vice versa.

I would mention anyone who associated with him and gave you any problems like:

“I just wanted to mention some names of those who were associating with him and sometimes affiliated in his poor behavior. The reason for this is for future reference if they make complaints about me, I hope that you will consider the situation with care and review any case about me with care because I avoid any hostility with my fellow peers, and there was some hazing and poor behavior getting a spread a bit from this individual. Just for reference.”

To have on file or whatever. This way any of those minions who try to give you trouble later on will not be able to accuse you of anything.

Also please be careful when attending your job. YES I forgot- ask them to keep your name out of it, and give yourself a year or 6 months to be cautious of these idiots and that terrible guy. They seem highly immature and emotionally unstable that they may try to get physical revenge. Mostly him since you even said he pulled a knife on someone.

He seems very manipulative so it was probably just to scare whoever he was threatening but best to not give him ANY opportunities.

You did great. You did right. Inform your superiors ahead of times

He can find another job. Hopefully he’ll be more humbled and courteous at the next one.

Yes, I did. As a technical lead, I needed to evaluate the progress of learning and the skills of the people on my team. We had this person who was hired in the junior position. Since I joined, I have been working with them on their skills. After 1.5 years, this person still wasn't able to finish the easiest of tasks when others were progressing really fast. Programming isn't really complicated, but you have to want to put some effort and learn stuff... This person expected us to deliver them solutions for their tasks... My recommendation was to let them go... It was accepted by higher management and I had to deliver the news and execute the procedure.

Now I can make such decisions alone. But I have an amazing team, so I don't expect any changes in the close enough future.

I fired somebody before. I really wanted him to work out but he was a drunk. He came in drunk at 9AM and I had to fire him.

Yes but the union brought him back. I felt bad he lost his job. I didn't lie, just told what I saw of an argument he had with an other worker.
