Do you ever miss someone who was fired or "Canceled" away from the spotlight?

In 2010, extremely popular and over-with-the-public insurance mascot Erin Esurance was "canceled" due to her somewhat risqué past in the adult film industry. At the time, the 27 year old was super popular and everyone loved her spy-themed commercials. Some suspected Progressive Flo was the one who ratted her out to the mainstream media and got her Canceled. Her cameo was even cut out of the 2022 Chip and Dale: Rescue Rangers movie.

While yes, she shouldn't have been doing that kind of work in 2004 and 2005, she truly was taken off the air before her time could truly shine on the internet. Who knows what she's doing nowadays or if her, Kim Possible, Totally Spies, and Johanna Dark will ever do a spy girls reunion show.

I can’t imagine anyone ever overtaking R. Kelly as my favorite R&B singer. I came of age to Kels’ music. Any time I was getting my whistle wet as a young gun in the 90s, or attempting to, lmao, R. Kelly was the soundtrack. Earlier on it was the 12 Play album, then his self-titled album mid-high school, then the ‘R.’ album when I was in college, and beyond…. R. Kelly’s music was always there to set the mood. I was in college when Ignition (Remix) came out, and I remember the first time I heard it at a party since it had just come out that week, and I’ll just always remember where I was and the vibe, the whole house went crazy and was singing and dancing along with it. I fuckin’ LOVE R. Kelly.

All that said, I’m the same age as Aaliyah, I remember when she came out when I was about 14, before she even was on her “grown n’ sexy” shit. She had a career trajectory like Tevin Campbell, they both came out when they were in middle school and had some poppy kind of song, then they disappeared for a couple years and grew up a little, and then they started making baby-makin’ music and were marketed as true slow jam artists. And somewhere in that time period, grown ass adult R. Kelly married her by the time she was 16, with a falsified birth certificate. I’m sure we’d be hearing all the fucked up shit from that relationship if she were alive today. But anyway, even at 15 or 16, I knew R. Kelly was a creep. When all his shit blew up with the piss tape like 20+ years ago, I was like “yeah, that tracks”, it was no surprise besides the pissing part, lmao, I figured underage girls were just part of the deal with this guy.

So I’ve never really had any respect for him as a man, I’m just able to compartmentalize the artwork from the artist. I mean, to be fair, I’ve read stories about this one girl who was a big Hollywood groupie back in the 70s, sneaking out of her house at night at 13 or 14 to go to Sunset Strip bars and clubs, and it sounds like she was fucking the likes of David Bowie, Mick Jagger, Robert Plant…. all the who’s who of the music business back then. Doesn’t make any of it right, I’m just saying R. Kelly is far from the first guy to take advantage of and even prey on underage women. I didn’t even bother watching the big documentary on him, so I don’t even know the half of it, it sounds horrific, but I’ve already had his character written off for 30 years, I’ve just liked his music despite all of that. So, while he’s rightly been cancelled out, it still makes me sad there won’t be any future music coming from him, but I’m thankful he put out such a big catalogue before all of his bullshit caught up to him.

Not quite sure if this counts but I used to watch this YouTube channel called Dr Shaym. I liked listening to him because he talked about topics that was extremely politically incorrect but nevertheless needed to be said.

I'm not sure what did this but half of his channel went private, thankfully leaving some of his more popular videos intact but some of my favorites were wiped.

One of my favorites was when he talked about dealing with "crybullies", or people who are only on the internet to nitpick and cause a stink every time they see anything that can be construed as an ism. He said something like "So what if they are offended? Did they die? Did their pets explode? Let them be offended. If someone gets offended over something that wasn't meant to be offensive, that's their problem. You have bigger things in your life to worry about than people who think their own shit doesn't stink. If they get offended over something as silly and inconsequential as a joke, they are not opressed."

That video was made back in 2017 I think. I don't think the woke cult was as powerful at that point as it is now but this is still an excellent nugget of wisdom I live by every day. I used to be very socially anxious at the time but that is what I think helped me get over it.

He now exists as Possum Reviews on a separate channel on YouTube and he still drops some more takes on Twitter all the time so I'm not sure if he counts as "cancelled". Especially if I don't know why half of his original channel was wiped.

They got rid of Ashton Kutchers brother on the show "The Ranch" which was basically like a 2nd 70's show because it had most the characters on it. The who played Hyde over accusations that still today make no sense lol but Netflix threw him off the show, which killed it and it ended earlier then expected.

Most people pretend to be liberal so they don;t get cancelled. I can't really think of anyone in show biz that got cancelled because most of them either are liberal or pretend. Clint Eastwood is the exception and it is because he is too big to cancel.

They TRIED to cancel many Avengers, like Chris Pratt (not campaigning for Biden), Robert Downey Jr (Tropic Thunder), Scarlett Johannson (Ghost in the Shell), and Leticia Wright (being anti-forced vaccines), but ultimately, none of the woke's attempts worked.
