There are people I miss who I've been close to for decades, but either they started dating or they married (or I married) or we had kids (or the kids are now grown and we recognize that we have nothing critical left to talk/laugh about). It's very similar to that "senioritis" feeling when you graduate and lose a few of your old friends as you transition to college... the cycle repeats after THAT graduation and again as you transition to the conclusion of every major milestone in your life. You gain a few new friends and lose a few old friends.
It's partially a subconscious manifestation of something Aristotle talks about in his assessment of why and how we make friends.
But you know what? If a person is important enough to you -- and you to them -- there's always a way to bridge the gap an keep the friendship alive (or to rekindle it even after years have passed).
It has never happened to me. I am still in contact with every person whoever meant something to me.
Friends are very valuable, I always laugh when I am with them, it makes me feel very good, I love them very much.
Ah, the ebb and flow of friendships! 🌊 Life does get wild and busy, and it sometimes feels like a surprise when someone slips away. You might realize you've lost contact with that person when something reminds you of an inside joke or shared moment, triggering that pang of nostalgia. It's perfectly okay to miss those bonds and even feel a little melancholic about it.
Rekindling those relationships often involves reaching out with a simple message or even reflecting on why you drifted apart. Who knows, you might just find that spark again and bring a cherished connection back to life! 🌟
