Getting someone fired from their job?

I have a dilemma. I'm debating whether I should report someone's behavior which could potentially get them fired.

Part of me says to walk away. The other half of me says I shouldn't let them get away with unprofessional behavior.

Overview: I'd hang out at this spot with my friends and one of the workers would flirt with me. I would flirt with her but she was kinda sketchy (one time single, the next boyfriend). I didn't take her seriously so I backed off with the flirting. She would get upset if other women would talk to me. One night she got very mad with me because I was flirting with a group of women. She was out of line and I left. I was so upset with what she did, I went back and I spoke to her. We smoothed things over.

I start going back in with my friends and everything was fine. I'm there one night and am talking to these women. Having a nice time when a man came up to me and started talking trash. It seems the girl who works there sent him up to me to start a fight. Nothing happened but the guy was a jerk and it could have been an ugly situation.

The girl denied having any involvement. She was lying as the jerk gave her up. I found out he wasn't her boyfriend but a guy who is very into her. She used him to hopefully get us to fight.

I spoke to management and they tried to cover it up. Nothing was ever resolved. Some of my friends told me to let it go. Others have told me to post what happened on the internet and write a letter to the owner of the business.

Just wondering what others think?

I would recommend writing a letter to the business, and being extremely discreet about it. She was indeed very unprofessional and if I had an employee like that I would feel that she is incapable of being in a work environment and has no maturity level whatsoever. If you are worried she will get fired, think about this, what are the chances that she will be able to find another job, and what are the chances that the same thing will happen in another job? Weight the pros, cons of both her benefit and yours, in this case, being rational and logical is the best solution and you have to think ahead of time a little bit.

I agree with the immaturity issues. Just completely stupid and dangerous to play games and fill some unstable jerks head with nonsense and coax him into approaching someone else to stir up drama. If I didn't restrain myself, it would have turn into a huge fight and the cops would have shown up, lawsuits files, just a huge mess. All of this because of a girl being immature and jealous.

I think she should have been fired because myself, the jerk and possibly others around us could have gotten hurt. Might as well yell fire in a crowded movie theater. Same thing, no?

Collect evidence and record your confrontation with her secretly with a mobile phone or something and give that as evidence to the business owner.

There's no way she will talk to me. Not after I spoke to her manager. I'm sure the manager told her to avoid me as to no implicate herself. Lucky for me I go in with friends and all of them witnessed this and can back up my story. My friends were with me when the manager was back tracking trying to get out of it.

The reason: she was trying to incite a physical altercation because she's a vindictive bitch. What angers me the most is that I went out of my way to clear the air with her, and told her I wouldn't come in again if it would upset her. When I say "upset" I mean her getting jealous seeing me talking to other women. I guess she lied to my face when she told me to come in again and there were no problems between us.

Sounds like you need better management + the end of an uncomfortable job leads to a much better one... sometimes we stay too long at the fair and NEED a kick like this to better ourselves.

OK to make one more try - to find a management friend that will take this to heart... perhaps over his free lunch you provide him.. or better... her.

Public is NOT good. If you are a patron, then talk to a different management until you get results. Patrons are king.

There's a chance it wasn't her who tried to get you two to fight. If he was into her, maybe he saw you as a threat. I wouldn't want to get someone fired like that, I'd resolve the problem with them and not via the workplace.

I thought about that, but from what he said, and how he approached me, she was in on it. He singled me out from everyone in a crowded place, and I never met this guy before.

I did talk to her after, I was pissed, she flipped flopped as she said she knew him, but then said she didn't know him. She was freaking out. I spoke to the manager and he was doing his best to sweep it under the rug.

I have been avoiding the place. I just don't like the idea of being run out of a place when I didn't do anything wrong. I'm sure if I did something wrong, I've would have been told to never go back. Instead, I was offered free this and free that, and encouraged to stop in again.

Contact the owner. People take stuff on the internet with a grain of salt.

I thinking what someone else suggested - writing a letter. Have it in words. This way they will have to take it seriously, and I'm sure she will play dumb. If that doesn't work, she will then cry victim and justify her actions. At least in writing, and providing details, people will be able to see who's telling the truth and who is lying to save their ass.

No I started avoiding the guy and one of my managers hated me for that. He would try and egg me on in front of her and she would smirk. She got fired for something like 5 months ago. I got fired last week for something else

He would always try and get me mad so I stopped talking to him. My manager knew I didn't like him so she would try and get us to talk but he would always egg me on and my manager would get happy. He would also make things up about me. Like one time I was taking to this guy and he comes and he just stands there angry and I left because I got scared and he went to the guy and started talking to him. Then the guy didn't talk to me after that. He would do that type of shit and my manager would think it was funny for him to instigate and she would try and see it. Lol I wouldn't snitch. Either ignore her or find a new job

Why didn't you go above your manage and file a complaint with human resources? As for me, I don't work at this place. I was a patron.

It was! I'm glad I'm gone. The manager that got fired use to threaten me if I couldn't work on a day with my job
And they once didn't let this guy quit until he could find replacement. That's not even in the contract.

Some managers are dictators. The job goes to their head and they think they can do as they please. Just scumbag people

They really are. There is a lot that goes on that would be considered illegal for that place. Eventually karma will hit them in the face. There is still a little piece of angry that I have for that place. How you covered that managers trying to cover it up is stupid. My job did that too. They just want to pretend like it's not happening. You would think they would want their business to have a healthy environment, but that's usually not the case.

That's why I'm kinda backing off from the idea of going public or writing a letter to the owners, as karma always evens things out. She was embarrassed by the things the jerk aired out that night. Claiming she sleeps with customers when she has a boyfriend.

The manager tried to offer us free things to make it go away and I told him thanks but no thanks. He got mad because I wouldn't back down. He also wanted to know more about her, if her and I were getting it on, which was weird. I think the manager likes her, too or they had something going on.

Life is just unfair. When I got fired, I took ally of the blame for one of the mangers. The whole situation was really bad where I ended up getting arrested and going to court.
