Why Does Management Undermine Useful Employees?

There is a woman I work with. She has and administers very good and efficient ideas that help her department be more accurate. I’ve noticed though, that management will undermine her, steal her ideas only to make our department run less efficiently. All the while, managers will complain about the tiniest errors that make no difference. Meanwhile, it seems they (management) make even larger errors. Why does management undermine someone with such dedication and talent? Management consists of old or aging men.
