Did your parents push you to do Extracurriculars/Internships/Research/Job in high school?

No but I wish they did. They never pushed me to do anything but thankfully I was proactive enough to sign up for extracurricular activities as well as internships. I basically had to “parent” my younger siblings and guide them to be proactive so that they could start building their career and not get left behind.

My parents both got their careers handed to them because of their parents’ connections. So they never bothered to learn how to work your way up. Which probably explained why they never guided me to do anything…

My grandparents were well connected and wealthy so my parents already had jobs in a high position lined up before they even graduated. My mom ended up quitting her job after she got had me and my dad took his job for granted so he couldn’t “pass down” anything to his kids.

No.. my parents never really cared what I did, they both trusted me and thought I was a "good kid" so they never really paid attention to me.. my art teacher forced me to join this art thing on the weekends but I dropped out early on cuz I didn't like giving up my weekends to do art all day like being at school lol.

Right after high school I had to get a job and started working at the dollar store LOL I did that then after 2 years I went to college while I was working but realized I couldn't handle being around people every single day so that hit me hard and I got distracted by my boyfriend and ended up dropping out of college, quit my job and went to UK to live with my boyfriend to run away from my parents :/
I didn't work while I was with him and just did nothing for years.. when we broke up when I was 31 we lived together until I moved back to my moms house at 33 I went back to college and took a small course on law and now I am doing security lol.

I took a year off to try and save money for college Then I got an Air Force ROTC scholarship. I went to college for a year and lost the scholarship because I failed an eye test. I wen one more semester with the money i had in the bank and had to drop out.

right after graduating high-schol... I took a year off, because I didn't want to go to college right away without a clear idea of which path to follow

then I ended up enrolling in college at age 20... at a career path that I really didn't want for me to follow (my parents didn't mind it much, and they did let me figure it out) but it was the best option at the time and in the specific circumstances, or so it seemed to be

two years into the career, I did decide to not finish college, and did "quit" that path, I just didn't wan to work on that field just because it was going to be "fairly easy" to me to go into and there was going to be plenty of opportunity on that field

age 22... I was out of college, and I started to work in businesses, to this day, I still work in (own) businesses
