Because most jobs deal with the public in one way or another. Society likes good looking people. People prefer to deal with good looking people over those who aren't. Humans are all about first impressions usually. Looks are more first impression more than anything else.

I worked temporarily in my uncle's office covering someone... the only reason i got there was coz they would only have a girl looking pretty and with big tits... they had a specific way of being dressed for the position... n for them it wouldn't work if it was any other girl... n tht was office

Lookism even applies to male workers (though much more often to the ladies) as I read online some time ago that in Corporate America, handsome men receive 30-40 percent more sponsorships for their projects than plain Bobs.
