Usually I apply the park brake when my foot is still on the brake when I turn off a car and im parking.

No you did. On normal sane driveways you just turn the car off and the the regular brakes kick in. You feel the lurch as the car settles.

As long as you don't put the weight of the car on the transmission when you put it in park. You'll come out of your house one day and the car will have rolled out into the street

Putting a car in park is not meant to keep it from rolling down the hill, that's what the e-brake is for. There's a part in automatic transmissions when you put them in park that fails if there's too much weight pushing against it and then it rolls out of your driveway. I can't remember what that stupid part is called. It doesn't really matter if you put the e-brake on first or put it in park first, what really matters is that you keep your foot on the brake pedal until the e-brake is on so the way of the car is not pushing against the transmission and fucking it up. In a stick shift it really doesn't matter because there are no parts inside to get fucked up by putting it in park on a hill without the brakes or e-brake holding the weight back

Because you can't put a stick shift in park, and if the car rolls it's just going to make the engine spin. It will still roll out of your driveway though if it's steep enough
