Will Artificial Intelligence really help people?

Artificial Intelligence will be able to perform a lot of functions that humans usually do. It is not just for relatively unskilled positions anymore. AI can do a lot of the work that was done by professionals like attorneys, accountants and even radiologists. You would think that labor saving machines would be a good thing but will people actually benefit from this or will they just find that their skills are obsolete and will be out of work?

Yep well it's already like that today that some jobs create a lot of value and a lot are more basic and create less value. It will probably just be more extreme in the future. Some people will do the work of 5 people with AI and other people won't have a job. Then there will be some form of universal basic income to keep people from dying. Maybe in the future you will only be allowed to have a child if you're one of the people who is working. That way the population won't be too big and it will be easier to sustain with less people working I don't know. It will be very interesting times I guess :S But usually the future turns out differently than we think so I don't know what could happen.

I don't know though if less and less people have the capability to understand all the complex things we need to understand and do the jobs which will probably have a lot of workload and time pressure then with time could there be some deterioration of knowledge and experience because these people will have less other people to learn from and share information with, it will all be a programm. And then if there's less people who know a lot there will be less quality data to use for the AI. They will have to find new ways to make the AI think and learn with less human input.

I don't know much about AI and what it can all accomplish and how long it will be until it happens but I do know one thing, I have a two thousand dollar vacuum cleaner that is the latest in technology and about an hour ago, I went over a piece of string about thirty times with it! I had to finally bend over and pick it up. It makes me wonder how good of a job and AI lawyer can do!

It's a Kirby my parents bought me. It wasn't quite two thousand but a little over 1600, I just rounded up. They were insane to pay that much but I did say I wanted a nice vacuum cleaner.

I will make a banal answer but both, many people will probably lose their jobs because of the ia, but the ia will also allow great development, including medical etc..

That's really all AI is for most events of human exposure... intentional mind manipulation... Even when it is being used for a valid purpose, it is still mind manipulation with bogus information. So for example throwing aside all the chatGPT, GROK, and shit like that which most people know and looking at systems that are used in the military for thermal vision sighting. The algorithms look for stark temperature changes to outline potential threats, which makes people that understand that software able to evade being detected when being directly spotted. AI tells you to not trust your lying eyes and go with AI's judgement, which could lead to your death in a combat situation. For the most part it is good at it's job when people don't try to trick it, but it's only a machine at the end of the day. The same goes for bypassing facial recognition by blocking eyes with IR green shade welding sunglasses to prevent reads of your eyes. The machines is only as good as it's trainer, and as you have seen recently there are a lot of people in powerful positions that do not have your interest in mind.

I am a medical student and an expert in artificial intelligence (in fact I have an international certificate), artificial intelligence will replace absolutely all jobs, however the ultimate goal is transhumanism, humans will implement technology in their bodies to become smarter and stronger, something like Blade Runner.

I disagree about lawyer because a. i. can only aid lawyers and programmers but we can't trust it to program nor can it "argue" in proper court style to a judge.

Unless we make a. i. a judge after a jury, a. i. can replace judges... but who gets to program those a. i. judges! liberals who will falsely jail Republicans!

But it ALREADY "helps" people but AI' can't replace trash collector nor mall cleaners etc.

Isn't AI technology used for surgery? I remember a few years ago my dad had a robot perform hernia surgery on him!

Yes I had a total hip replacement and the hardware they used was part of a system to automate the operation so the angle and the length of the stem was perfect.
