Basically I'm 24 F and I currently work four days a week. Pay my contribution to my mom weekly.

I make a bit of money but not enough considering rent crisis in Ireland and it's one of the most expensive countries in EU. I dropped out of college and now I teach piano in an academy but no money during holidays so I save it. I am thinking of going back to college to become a high school/secondary school teacher. This means I wouldn't be in the financial position to leave home until I'm about 30 which is insane to me.

I have also pretty much no friends since one is moving back home to Italy and the other lied to me and we fell out.

I have also never had a boyfriend and I swear I wish I could be a housewife sometimes because pursuing career has never interested me. I know I might get flack for saying that but have felt this way for few years

But would you be satisfied for 18 to 20 years being a housewife? You'd still have no money, but an allowance to run the household paid by your spouse. At least with your own job, you have your own money.

What about getting a roommate. You might be able to find one and work out a roommate relationship and you could leave home and go to school. Is there a chance to get another part-time job?

Boyfriends come and go and moving in with one is a dicey proposition. You break up, you're back home with mom.

Sit down and make a "values" list and a "goals" list. What's important to you? How will you get to what's important to you? What are you passionate about doing?

It doesn't sound like you're passionate about doing or being ANYthing. It sounds like you're just throwing up your hands and saying this is all too hard. Sounds like it IS.

But once you figure out what you value, what you're passionate about DOING and set goals to achieve your values and get to your passions, you might have a clearer picture of the path to take to your dreams.

Simply getting out of your mom's house is not enough. Going back to college is not enough. Being a housewife sounds like a place to park while you figure out what you really want. If it IS a passion, then go for it. But determine what you love, value and decide how to get to it. Good luck!!!

I'm definitely passionate about music but the teaching piano isn't sustainable long term especially with unpaid holidays.. it's also very monotonous and to be honest quite frustrating as most kids are forced to be there.

It's important for me to have security and enough money to live outside of home. Important for me to like what I'm doing.
High school teaching appeals more now because wages aren't bad here and of course excellent holidays which allows time for creative freedom. I think I'll just have to scramble for more work and look for cheapest accommodation. Thank you for your help much appreciated 💜

I've also thought of some gigging which my grandad does and made a living that way. He would always find gigs and then being at that gig allowed him to find more as people wanted him to play at weddings etc.
It's just my style of playing is so much different and doesn't seem too wedding friendly. I could do it if I really wanted to but it's also a bit of a struggling life. Teaching seems to match my personality more. I'm not really an entertainer or performer type person but I wonder am I just limiting myself.

You will need some kind of financial cushion before moving out. I’m admittedly not sure what the difference is in Ireland compared to here, but when you try to find a place the real estate/landlords will check your credit score and paystubs to be sure that you can actually afford the place. Having a financial cushion to cover you through rent or mortgage payments is essential. If you’re really desperate to move out, I know there are some places that will pay you to move there and help their local economy. You could poke around and see where they are.
