I've liked the large majority of my bosses, or at least found them acceptable. Some of them actually became friends and we did things together outside of work.

Some were also totally hands off, and I rarely had any contact with them. There was even one company that I worked at for a year before I knew who my boss was - it was a surprise because I always assumed the guy who hired me was my boss.

If I seriously disliked a boss, I probably wouldn't be working there long.

I've had quite a few bosses I liked and they liked me as well!!
I have always had a great rapport with all of my bosses - men and women both.
I was a hard worker and always punctual to a fault almost
I always turned in work which has no mistakes.
I promised each of them that I would never allow them to be blinded by anything.
I went beyond my job duties and was always willing to help others.
I saved one company a lot of money using my expertise in procurement. I received a $500 bonus for that one!🙂

Is that really a thing? Wow I had no idea. My boss and I all we talk about is business and how to make ho above the goal huge sale! Last time me boss well he didn't yelled at me. But he did look upset with a serious face told be this store better be well organized and extremely clean get your employees to straighten up their additue and follow the rules. Well my co manager is more concerned about becoming a cool favorite manager instead of cooperate with mento make the best at the store. But nope I never had nothing to do with crush on boss or romance. I'm my work place we can get fired for even going out on a date with a. coworker. so no that's a no.

I liked many of my supervisors and managers. I became good friends with some of them.
There were only a few bosses who were ass holes.

I wasn't an ass kisser. I just talked to them like normal and treated them like people who had jobs to do.

They liked me because I hustled, got the job done quickly and efficiently, made few mistakes, and volunteered when they needed something.

I learned to do the job impeccably. That made my bosses jobs easier and made them look good. Consequently, they learned to trust me as someone they could rely on.

My attitude got me promotions.

I found that hustling and staying ahead of the job gave me time to disappear and goof off without being noticed.
A manager friend once told me that it didn't take him all day to do an eight hour job, meaning that he didn't have to slave away all day to get his job done. It's a matter of knowing what's expected.

Yeah. We "get" each other. It's partly cultural, partly philosophical. We've learned to express one another without fear of judgment or persecution and know we've got each other's backs no matter what. It's very rare, actually. I know I lucked out with that. NOT that my boss is easy going at all. When I show up with MY authoritative attitude it's partially because I know what I'm doing and partially bc I know my boss has my back.

my old AP. He was laird back and we chatted a lot about investments and life.
my current … a lot about families and life. I don’t talk about work with my supervisors, not interesting.
Only talked about it for like 10-20minutes after my evaluation… then off to fun discussions about life and other stuff.

For anyone reading this, please do not worry about whether or not your boss likes you. It annoys the shit out of me and when you try to have a rapport. If it happens, it happens. Just focus on the goals of the business and stop being a self-seeking fucktard. It doesn't take a genius to figure out what you need to do to contribute to the bottom line.

I've had several bosses that I liked. The best were the ones who let me know what was expected and then left me alone to do it. The worst were hose who micro-managed me and the rest of the team.
