How was your experience with your boss?

I've only worked under one person yet. She was an amazing person. She became our lead after everyone, unanimously accepted her as the lead 😂. No formal designation. Although, the way she communicated, felt like she's irritated or angry, soon all of the team members got used to it and realised that she wasn't. It was just her natural way of speaking.

She was humourous and playful. I remember, the very first day I joined, she was teasing me that I'm too busy with all the induction procedure 🤣. She was empathetic and used to listen to my concerns and opinions. This is something I really liked about her. A few days back a person who interviewed me was quick to judge me and label me as incompetent saying that I have never worked on xyz. That pissed me off. But that's nothing new, I've always had a short temper during interviews.

The reason why all of the above is in past tense, is because I'm no longer under her. I'll probably be working with someone else. I'm looking forward to meeting new people and hopefully, I'll enjoy working with them as well.

it depends on which boss...

I had many different bosses... starting from those who knew nothing about my area of expertise and left everything in my hands... through those who were competent but not micromanaging and let me learn from my own mistakes... to those who always knew everything better and I was always the stupidest person they have ever worked with...

full range of experiences. My current boss, the CTO, is the best. I don't know what you are doing, Isla, but I believe it's needed. Where should I sign? Of course he knows very well what I do but this level of trust motivates me to work only harder.

My main boss was my mother since I worked at her law firm. It was terrible because too much of the family dynamic was there since two of my much older sisters were also there.
