It can be as subtle as not saying hello back when you say hello to them, whereby onlookers think there must be something you did to make them hate you, or as overt as team leaders piling work on you at work that you can't possibly complete, which leads to your boss thinking you aren't working hard.
When I was in grad school, I was in a team of 3 people working on a small project. One of the team members had some unusual issue with me and, long story short, she wanted me ousted from the group. I left on my own and did the work of 3 people myself. I heard several months later that she was trashing me to her circle of friends. No one could figure out why because I seemed like a quiet easy going kind of person. It was rumored among them that perhaps it was a failed love affair that make her go apeshit over the situation! THAT is was not! LOL... So that was a situation where someone tried to ruin my reputation.

I have 15 years experience in the auto industry, the last place I worked for hired a manager that has never turned a wrench to save his life. He attempted to treat me as if I was a low man on the totem pole. It started with not getting enough work, I was getting unsatisfactory progress reports, I noticed unequal work distribution. Everyone by me was getting good reports. It to such a point that I had to quite for the sake of my own mental health. I later called the labor board and the State on them for unlicensed activity, and overtime not being paid out. The string of excuses was comical.
Yeah from school times to workplace, like work related in my last Office I worked there for 3 years, I always got complimented on my work and in the last months my ex employer and I got into a fight and afterwards he hated me and tried to talk me bad to my colleagues, they thankfully knew what happened cause everyone witnessed our fight and told me to leave and so I did.
School were some petty small mean girl kinda things tho I don't think they're worth mentioning, unless you want to hear them lol
I heard in the news about a guy in India who spent 22 years fighting a $0.25 over charge at the train station in a legal court before winning his case, I let God sift through human plots and don’t fight it myself, cause we aren’t big enough to fully control what the wicked do, but God can control them for us.

I experienced that wth my older sister, who at times seems bent on making another person's life miserable. When it became my turn to be her victim, I eventually refused to allow her into my life in any way.
On here or in general? The answer to both is yes.
Yeah, some asshole told the whole Senior year that I was a whore, even though I'm a virgin and it was all because I called him out on his bullshit
I guess you could say that, seeing as how I was always being thrown into troublesome situations not of my making.
Only with trivial online stuff. In the real world, it has never happened to me.
🙎Yeah. When it comes from one of your aunt's, and your own father; that's another level.
Talking with people from dating apps; some of them turn out to be scammers and when I refuse to give them money some turn to trying to blackmail me. I just block and report them.
Yes, they were very toxic people and also my ex-girlfriend was toxic too
Oh yeah. With girls, it's usually very less complicated. They snitch.
I had that stuff in school and college.
