I attended a Catholic School and had to wear a uniform.

At a couple jobs, I did. At 7-11 I had to wear a red smock but I could wear just about anything else under it. At Cedar Point I HAD to wear a uniform. When I was working with the magic show I had to dress in all black but, it didn't matter what it was. At Mellon Bank, men weren't allowed to wear shorts but women were allowed to wear skirts. Seeing as I how I busted ass up there and kept getting hot because of it, I asked my boss if I could wear a skirt. She said, there's nothing in the rule books that says you can't! And, if I chose to do so, she'd support me! So, the next day, I wore a skirt to work. Most of the employees (most of whom were black women) loved the idea and were VERY pissed that the higher ups forced me to put pants on! After that, they added "no skirts on men" into the dress code!! Lol!! I made them change the dress code!!

In the Catholic school that I attended from1st through 8th grade, we had uniforms. For several years, the boys wore brown corduroy pants and button shirts that had tiny brown and white checks. They they switched to light blue denim slacks and white shirts.

At the job I started when I was 26, I had to wear suits at first. Then they switched to golf shirts with the company logo embroidered above the left chest. You could choose whatever colors you wanted. And you could wear any pants except for shorts or Levis.

I have a quasi-self-imposed dress code. If I go to court, I must be wearing a suit, dress shirt, and tie; this part is mandatory. If I am just in the office and I am meeting clients, I wear dress pants, a white dress shirt, and a sweater vest or V-neck sweater in winter, and a dress shirt and tie in the summer. If I am in the office and not meeting clients, I wear dress pants and a golf (polo) shirt.
