Would it be stupid of me not to take a job because I'd have to shave my beard?

I pretty desperately need a job, and my local mcdonalds is hiring for a maintenance worker. I was going to apply, but my brother used to work as a cook at mcdonalds, and he told me that he had to be clean shaven. Well I hate how I look without a beard, because I have no chin, or jawline, and I look ridiculous. Would it be stupid not to pursue a job for that reason?

Maintenance and cooking is not the same job description, I'd not call you stupid but I do understand that you're desperate and without a job if you're already are thinking about not pursuing the job, without actually looking into if being clean shaved was necessary for the position you're seeking or not.

Your brother was a cook and understandably needs the beard or long hair gone or covered with a hair net. Same rules at my restaurant, but if your going to be in maintenance it's likely that rule would not apply to that job. I'd check it out if I were you

Hey Maccas have changed their rules lately, which you can check. But as a maintenance worker their insurance policy probably doesn’t cover “facial hair” women or men so just decide what’s more important $$$$ now or not going anywhere because you didn’t shave, save & invest 😊🤣

and if they require you to shave clean... it depends on whether you can give up the job... the beard will grow up... and any debt you create when you are unemployed is hard to pay off
