I started at the job in Sept 2022 after ending treatment for cancer. In Dec of 2022 I received a positive genetics test that put me in early prevention for as of right now 3 different cancers. The job worked with me for 2 years until my boss let me off for the day with knowing I was sick and just told me to get rest. I went to an urgent care and tested positive for strep and the flu. 2 days later I received a call from my former boss telling me that I was out too much, too many medical procedures, appointments, etc so they had to let me go. Anytime anyone else is sick there is nothing wrong with it and hunkered down until they came back. It's wrong when I got sick. A lot of them were quick to block my number and me on social media as well.

AskI’m truly sorry to hear about your experience. It sounds like your dismissal might not have been handled appropriately, especially if your absences were due to medical conditions. You might consider consulting with a labor lawyer or an employment rights advisor to understand your options. They can offer insights into whether your dismissal might have been discriminatory, especially given your medical condition. It's also important to focus on your wellbeing and recovery while seeking new opportunities. Best of luck on your journey forward.
