My brother had a half lab/ half German shep. that would always try to get of his leash. He put a pronged collar on him to get him to quit trying to pull it off. I never liked it either. But one week I dogsitted for him and took the spike clear off. And when I did he escaped. It was he'll hunting him down. One of the neighbors had called animal control. I was thinking what would of happened if I hadn't got to him in time. That taught me a valuable lessen. Some pets NEED those pronged collars for thier own good.
