Can dogs really tell if someone is a bad person?

This just happened many months ago. Roy is a peaceful mixed Golden Retriever and Rottie. He's coffee brown (not as light as a Retriever but not black like a Rottie either) with the body and face of a Rottie.

Overall he gets along with everyone but it was with just this particular guy that was persistent on being the new renter. At some point he started barking nervously. He has met new people but never had this reaction before, just with that man.

Then just last month, I heard from others that very same guy is a scammer and has been arrested once for drug possession. I'm not sure if this is a coincidence but my dog didn't like that man at all. Roy reacted so badly for the first time ever. As soon as that man left, he was chilled and relaxed once again. So do our furry pets have 6th sense and they can tell a very bad person?

It is not a 6th sense, they just don't ignore things. I have always been afraid of dogs; so of course when I go over to someone's house and they have a dog. The dog is always keen on interacting with me as opposed to anyone else that is new. Less so, now that I have learned to control my fear; but still with more hyperactive dogs. That said, it isn't that they can tell if someone is bad; just that their behavior is different. You have to look at that person's behavior and reevaluate it to see if you missed something obvious about them.

Yes. I have a large male dog. Whenever I'm out male dogs sniff me down there and try to mount me because they can smell my dog off me.

Dogs and horses are very sensitive and can tell when something's not right about a person, about their surroundings, etc.

Yes, but sometimes it is just that the new person reminds them of someone who was mean to them in the past.

It seems that a lot of dogs and cats do have a sixth sense about good and evil in -people. Not 100% of the time but dam close to it

Our dog can tell a good person from a bad person, a good dog from a bad dog, etc. I would never doubt what my dog is telling me.

Impossible and animals don't know what is good or bad person. Animals can sense fear, happiness or you being aggressive but not what's morally good or bad in a person.
