Astronomer's CEO has been sacked following his cheating. Do you think this is justified?

He hasn't been "sacked". Sacked means fired. If he's been suspended, perhaps there is some "morality" clause at his workplace. OR, seeing as he's an official at his workplace, he's being held to a higher standard of behavior.
My thoughts about it are, no one knows what kind of arrangement this man has with his wife. Maybe she knows he has a side chick and it doesn't matter to her as long as he comes home at night. Maybe they have an open marriage.
But he WAS foolish enough to be seen in a public place with this other woman, and it's been blasted all over the TV networks and social media. THIS is an embarrassment to his employer that someone as high up as he is would be so careless. Where else has he been careless? What else has he been sloppy with, perhaps at work?
Byron resigned shortly after he was suspended and I think it's justified. He not only cheated on his wife and hurt his family, but also openly flaunted the affair at a public concert (Cabot is equally at fault), knowing cameras were everywhere. To make matters worse, both he and the woman worked at the same company — he was the CEO, and she was head of HR. That kind of relationship violates company's (most company's) policy and reflects poor judgment, and it's also considered as unethical. The scandal brought bad publicity to the company, so his removal makes sense. She should resign as well.
I don't know. If the stock is plummeting due to bad press then they may have no choice. Plus, wasn't the woman an employee? Usually intercompany affairs are more harshly dealt with vs. someone having an affair with someone outside of the company where no harassment lawsuits or favors will come into play, no one getting promotions they shouldn't because they were with the boss... etc.
LOL. Don't CEO's get paid many, millions of dollars? I'm sure he'll be fine. He probably doesn't even have to work another day in his life if he doesn't want to.
Yes. Adultery is an illustration of untrustworthiness. If you are untrustworthy with your spouse, why should your business partners consider you trustworthy? You're not and you've just proved it to them. Thus, they no longer feel safe and comfortable doing business with you.
FURTHERMORE, in the real world, had he not been let go, the wives of the other board members would have given their husbands oceans of shit. Thus, to maintain the peace at home, each board member had to vote to fire him.
Maintaining integrity is crucial for leadership positions. CEOs represent not just the company's interests but its values. Cheating undermines trust within and outside the organization. In my experience, accountability and ethical conduct are non-negotiable for effective leadership, and leadership decisions often reflect a commitment to these principles. Therefore, a dismissal might be justified if it aligns with upholding those values. Ultimately, it's about maintaining the reputation and integrity of the organization.

As a French I'm confused as to why he's suspended for this since it have noting to do with his work but I sincerely does not care about him, why should I care about some rich asshoels getting fired especially since he's a cheater good riddance xD
I don't know why he chose to cheat on her in the first place.
He had a loyal and stable wife at home who would not cheat on him or divorce him for a richer man, who was more low maintenance than his affair partner, and he was a busy professional who had to work very very hard to make time and space for his affair partner, it's like, why would you give up your freedom, time, and family for her?
Cheating is morally wrong but shouldn't be fired as it has nothing to do with his job unless there is a clause that says CEOs shouldn't date employees. Although as the CEO he's responsible for the public image of his company so maybe he should be fired.
He cheated with the lady he worked closely with.. If it were outside of the confides of work, I would think that that's a bit of a silly reason to sack a CEO, but in this context, it's definitely justified..
What did the French expect, him being kidnapped by his employees and locked up in a room until he gives up? 😂
Definitely, if he makes decisions like that what kind of decisions is he making for the company? Street thugs in Chicago act like that and they don't get anywhere but dead.
The answer depends on whether you expect people in leadership positions to conduct themselves in a moral and ethical manner.
Yes, not because he was screwing his HR director but because he is really really stupid.
Yes, he was a dumb-ass for being out in public with her in the first place. I find it funny that he blamed Cold Play, lmao.
I wonder if he thinks the affair was worth losing his wife, family and job?
That's retarded as hell! Only dumb Americans would fire someone for something that isn't work related
I know. Trust me, I know😂
I mean, if people want to think ill of him that's fine, but I think it's stupid to fire him over something that isn't work related and isn't even illegal
It's probably a professional misconduct thing that HE will suffer but she won't.
Not because he was cheating, but because he has a relationship with a subordinate.
He resigned. Firing over just this wouldn't have been justified but he wasn't.
Pressured perhaps but he blinked first.
Of course not. It doesn't affect his ability to do his job.
Yes. He was fucking an subordinate. From all accounts they are disgusting people.
Should not have been cheating
He dun fucked up
Cheaters are trash and deserve nothing
His wife deserves better
I don't even know who he is...
