I have a degree in sociology and I work as a journalist. Its not completly off-topic, but its an atypical job for a sociologist and you can study journalism directly. My topics are related to my study subject though. You can decide if that far enough for you or not.

I do. I have a Masters degree in Libray Science. I was working as Librarian last year but it was at a mental health institution and it was causing my mental health to go down.

Now I work as a Claims Customer Service Advocate at a health insurance company and I couldn't be happier at this job.

My first degree university trained skill sets are not very dominant in my field of work, but the second auxiliary traits I gained from those first degree skills have been extremely valuable to my current career. My university was my finishing school in a way, I learned manners and social skills that will safeguard the remaining years of my life.
