What do you tech sector people think about this Microsoft "engineer" who filmed herself taking more breaks than working?

I ran around on a little electric truck at work too. I blew out solenoids and fried power cables in the thing because I shoveled it's bed full of dirt to fill in holes in the roads. That pissed me off, every time a solenoid went I had to scrounge one up. They didn't keep them on hand. I loved that little truck though, I bought spray paint, for it, I put a car horn on it a dome light that was a tail light bulb. It was crazy bright so I could do my log book. I don't think she's doing anything extra from the look of it. She's probably the employee Microsoft deserves.

You may or may not get this... but tech jobs often involve long periods of time waiting for the computer to do the work without any extra input required. Case in point, I'm still logged into my work computer at about midnight and have been for the past 32 hours or so because the computer has been processing an inordinate quantity of data since late yesterday. It hasn't required anything more on my part than that I prevent the screen locking up from inactivity.

Well I'm not a tech manager , but my thought was " good on you sweetheart " little silly to film it though.

At one point , ( sadly not now ) and long ago I was paid 120k pa ( only AUD ) to not go to the office and do absolutely nothing , it was really good , lasted 6 months.

You can definitely do this temporarily, but you won't be making great promotions. If you are happy where you are at, fair game; Your manager should be on top of that. A lot of the work is communication and thinking, and if you do 30% worse than the other dude, you're just considered a bad worker; Every company has tons of bad workers.

I think this is a very good question. I've been told always to learn from good workers, business people and learn what not to do from the bad ones. I live in a country where jobs are few and far between. Over 30% unemployment in the formal sector. I would like to know how to keep my ass employed.
