Am I slow or what?

Question

I had an IEP in school for math and reading, and I think I'm slow. I missed a lot of school, though, like a lot. I excelled in writing and English, but that was it. I'm worried I'm slow.

But I got my CNA license (certified nursing assistant). My therapist said I'd have to be average or above average to pass it. Is this true? I am worried I have a low IQ or slow. But she said I would have to be of average or above average on intelligence to pass.
I do have ADD and get distracted a lot and did in school. I didn't take an interest in school that much.

Was my therapist correct?

You didn't take interest in school that much... that and the way you are second guessing yourself and trying to find an excuse. That's the only shortcoming here. Even if you are dumb and can't read or write you can learn. I read half as fast as most people and don't understand it so I read it again and again and again. People called me smart in school and I wasn't smart I refused to be left behind. I am slow diagnosed with high functioning autism in my adulthood but I see it as my strength not my weakness before I even knew I had it and that's what became. Me having to work harder then everyone else sucked but it gave me a drive and determination that I wouldn't trade to be an average person. There's one thing the same about below average and above average it takes effort to get there. To be average is to be normal be the best you can be every single day and never let anyone tell you anything you make your own life. Believe you can make this life the best you can. That's what the therapist is trying to say when she said you getting the can is proof your smart. Now believe it

Intelligence quotient is an interesting easier measurement, but has many flaws and biases so it fails to really be a good comparative measure of relative intelligence. School is not a measure of intelligence since it is mostly set up for nueronormative and is pressured to allow children to pass through uneducated. Don't let life pigeon hole you. Passing a CNA test takes focus and dedication of a certain mental capacity.

I had health issues that impaired certain abilities but I still tested above 75% of the population in my dumbest category during an I. Q. test I took to verify medical health. I was also told that my speed of intellectual processing was in the 99.99th percentile which is why I talk so fast.

I had people say I talk fast because of social anxiety, and that is not true. I am as calm as a winter lake when I talk in public. And being so calm, I have gotten A's on every public presentation I have ever done since the age of 9, with one B when somebody who was jealous of me turned the class against me with lies and the class was grading me.
