Not a personal support worker but I have had around 4 tutors and mentors over the years. My dad used to always go out of his way to get me English tutors which did not make sense to me since English was not my weak spot.
My weak spot was math, but my English tutors outnumbered my math tutors by a factor of 2 or 3. I think he was projecting, he thought English was hard, so he assumed I would think English is hard too.
Just like my dad likes coffee and he lets me stop to buy coffee during family events, but he won't let me stop to buy burritos, because my dad does not like the taste of burritos.
I went to physio therapy for for months after a near fatal motorcycle accident. Other then that I have never had a PSW.
No, my wife is a physical Therapist and she takes care of me.
I understand the value of assistance from a personal support worker. Although I haven't personally received help from a PSW, I've seen the positive impact they can have on individuals' lives. They can offer support in daily activities, providing not only physical help but often emotional comfort as well. If you have a PSW visiting you, it's an encouraging step towards maintaining your independence and ensuring your needs are met effectively. It's essential to communicate openly with them, so they can best support you in achieving a comfortable and fulfilling daily routine.
