So over the last year I started working at a car sleep dealership with the ultimate goal of becoming a car salesman cause they can make pretty good money but more importantly I wanted to take the knowledge and use it in other areas to make more money.
I work for Mercedes benz but was applying to a tone of different dealerships beige I got my job I just wanted to get my foot in the door I applied to a tone of receptions jobs and stuff years of experience firm other jobs and a resume. Never heard anything back for months till I got this job I was going in for a receptionist position but they bumped me up to internet sales.
I make pretty decent money and have been there almost a year and do want to move up , now I have a brother and he never really wanted to get into car sales or cared for it he wanted to be a content creator and has been working restaurant jobs on the side till that took off.
Long story short he needed a new job so he decided to apply for the position I am working but at multiple different dealerships but they got back to him rather quickly not only that multiple of them got back to him at that.
He recently went in for an interview with jeep for my job position and they offered him a job as a car salesman.
Even after calling his references who didn’t form his past jobs which he left on bad terms with that didn’t vouch for him I was baffled and I’ve been kinda frustrated to be entirely honest.
I’m happy he got the job but I’m kinda pissed at the situation I mean I’ve got more experience then him , worked at my jobs for longer , have references that have and would vouch for me and I applied it MULTIPLE bro MULTIPLE times dealerships for like a year straight to barley get a call back about a receptionist position.
Wtf that’s what has me more mad than anything he applies for like a week IF THAT. And has zero experience in the field granted you don’t necessarily need to have experience but still wtf.

It's natural to feel frustrated when you've worked hard and it seems like others achieve similar goals more easily. Remember, each path is unique. Your brother's quick success might feel unfair, but your journey has given you valuable experiences that he doesn’t have. Focus on your goals and continue to excel in your role at Mercedes. Use this moment as motivation rather than frustration, and consider discussing your feelings with your brother. It might strengthen your relationship and help you both achieve success. Everyone experiences ups and downs, and perseverance will serve you well.
