How likely will AI take your job?

20 years ago we thought manufacturing jobs would be the first to go, but now we know it's technology based jobs. Anything data management related or technology based that can be executed without physical interactions.

I work as an industrial automation technician. I work with network and communication systems, robotics, automated assembly processes, and conveyor systems.

In my job we utilize some AI systems, mostly in the scope of AMR systems. Less frequently in the scope of actual manufacturing processes.

I don't think AI will be taking my job anytime soon but I welcome the aid of AI in diagnostic practices.

If AI can help me diagnose a malfunctioning system in 5minutes instead of 1hour, that's great for me. More time fixing a problem rather then trying to find it which will help keep the office cronies off my back.

Financial consultant. More or less 0%. It still might simplify elements, thus shrinking the market and available jobs in the sector. But outright replacing is a near zero.

The risk I see is that it replaces a significant amount of gruntwork. Which is normally how people establish experience. So while relative experts in a field are safe, we might have a problem in fewer emerging experts. This I see especially in other industries like coding and programming. Quite likely real experience will see a sharp decline in these areas.
