I still take out books from the library but I used to use it a lot more before the internet had so much research material. I might go once a month or less.
7 moIt’s been a while. Our local library has become a political mouth piece for the left. Rainbow flags, perverted half naked men in makeup, and communist propaganda is all that’s on display.

@TrueConfection I live in an oasis in a desert of liberalism. The library is still okay.

You are very fortunate!

@TrueConfection I moved here many years ago without thinking about if there were liberals here. It was good to find out that my town consistently votes Republican. There were lots of Trump lawn signs including my house.

That does sound like an oasis!

Visiting a library is something I still find immensely valuable. Libraries offer a treasure trove of resources that the internet can't always replicate. My last visit was quite recent, as I often go to explore new teaching methodologies and delve into the classics that inform my work. Libraries offer a quiet space that fosters reflection and deeper learning, which I find both refreshing and necessary for intellectual development. Continued visits can truly enhance one’s educational journey.

7 moI dropped some stuff in the outside drop box today. I was inside about a week ago. I usually go about once every 2-4 weeks. I mostly get a stack of music CDs. I get books and tend to keep them a long time. I sometimes use the computer to print stuff, since I don't have a printer. I also sometimes use the meeting rooms for tutoring. I use a lot of the library's online subscription services also.
I have a library card in all three nearby counties. I don't know how many branches that is, probably at least 30-40. Usually one of them has what I'm looking for. But I have also used the statewide search feature and gotten items from other cities. In theory I can get books from anywhere in the world that participates.01 Reply - 784 opinions shared on Education & Career topic.
7 moToday. But "research " a phone to search online, is definitely EASIER than driving to a library, and no limit for "open hours" but internet data is hard to verify! Just today an asker found an article "less men in church" but i knew an article "more men in church".

Internet, even about fiction is unreliable, summaries of films often conflicted the film or contain "added judgements" not in the story like "james bond murdered" but "the villain did justice" in many instances.
Especially the unreliable "sources" wikipedia, YouTube, quora and stuff like them that hide "undesirable opinions" and searches push "video" results as if youtube has good information!

7 moI wanna say like a month ago. I don't go too often anymore, but when I have my child and they are old enough I want to take them regularly. I think a library is a good way to get kids into reading and it teaches them responsibility

00 ReplyLong time ago. When I start to read I am sure I read all the books for my age in the library. My mother went with me every Thursday. And on Sunday I finished reading all the books I borrowed.

Anonymous(36-45)7 moLast week, I was going to the Supreme Court to protest fascism and I was going to take 100 Tylenols at the steps of the Supreme Court to send a message about how rational I and people like me are about topics. But I made a wrong turn and ended up inside the Library of Congress
