Can a low IQ person become an expert in a technical field?

Some autistics are bad in IQ test but have talent in technical things, however most technical things demand prediction and most people who aren't good in IQ test have a disadvantage in this field.

Doctors have to be really smart. I think someone with mid to average IQ could become an engineer if they study hard.
