0 for myself when I'm doing a job for somebody and they're paying me money, it has to be right. So there is too

If somebody's working for me and helping me do a job, it's the same thing that's why they're getting paid good money because they say they know how to do it. So that's what I expect or if they have a problem , they come to me and we fix it

I can understand little mistakes. What have you? But what I can't understand is not being able to see them or just leaving them without saying something, because that means I have to go back and redo your work. And like I said , that just doesn't fly with me

It depends. To whatever extent I can, I do my best to give people chances to grow/reach their goals.

But if you aren't trying, if you are fine the type of person who acts like they're more important than people who are more valuable to me then they are, you will not like me.

I'll be very dismissive, you will get the short end of my temper and I'm gonna keep doing it till you either quit or learn to be better.

Interesting question. I'd say 8. Which is why I'd do badly as someone's boss but perform well as a teacher.

I don't mind explaining things twice, nor do I act harshly towards anyone who doesn't perform well (I believe most people want to be useful and perform well, so I try to look for underlying causes rather than assign blame). I am also patient and I enjoy teaching as an activity in itself.

In my personal life, I do not tolerate lack of trying. If I come to the conclusion that the person is simply lazy and lacks discipline, I do not waste my energy.

I don't mind incompetence if people admit they can't do something. You can always train them or get someone else. The ones I can't stand are people with a "can do" attitude who can't then expect praise for trying after they fuck up.

Perhaps worse of all are those who should be competent because they've had loads of training/practice but they're still incompetent.

This is going to make me feel bad. I don't have a high tolerance. If it's work and you need to get something done and you entrust someone with a task with a deadline, Get It Done. If you have questions, ask around. Communicate. Talk to me if you have problems before the task becomes the problem.

I am patient with ignorance (lack of knowledge) and lack of experience, but lack of competence, not so much. Especially when someone is in a leadership position but is incompetent. I have gotten a few people fired over the years for that reason.

I have had my own company for the last 20+ years so I don't have to deal with that anymore.

Depends on how young and untrained a person is. A new grad just doesn’t know how to do stuff. Train them… But then sort out the untrainable ones and set them on their way. With mature folks who have been in the industry but expect everyone to “carry” them in much less tolerant. Grow up… set a good example… earn your keep.

Incompetence happens when someone takes on a task they have never done before and don't know what they are doing. That's unacceptable.
