I certainly don't envy that their job must be very hard. Yet I can appreciate surely their job must be very rewarding and I think Americans should appreciate their Service Service more, as much as any of their fellow man or woman who work in law jobs, white collar jobs etc. Jobs are hard - anyone's jobs

Unrelated to the complexities of individual party politicians cycle to cycle, what do you make of the Secret Service as being "equivalent to the Men in Black (no sexism) in terms of the video above - it's like a white collar job for people who want to be told how to eat, sleep, when, routine - strict, rigid routine" - while still enjoying a pleasant day job wearing a suit? Pretty similar if you ask me, just no aliens. Personally I like white collar work and some blue collar jobs. But if you ask me, being a real life spy, being a real life law enforcement agent - too stressful a job in any country for my thinking on this Globe, I prefer Other jobs 👀

Protection details mean:

- Very long, irregular hours
- Constant vigilance and training
- High stakes but low public visibility (success is “nothing happened”)
- Family and social sacrifices due to travel and schedule

They do get leave, but it’s often disrupted by operational needs.

Most of their wins are invisible by design, so public recognition is limited. Quiet professionalism is the norm—but a simple “thank you for standing that post” genuinely matters.
