Should I risk everything on my big idea or take the safer path?

I have an idea that could either make me richer than a Wall Street trader, or make me earn less than a McDonald’s janitor.

Until I go public, I do not know whether I have wasted my adult life on a pointless project, or whether I will be the envy of every brain surgeon who earns less money than me.

Such a mysterious question as well as a conundrum.

The only way to know is to go for it and find out.

I might weigh the amount of security and life satisfaction that I currently have, and also any sense of regret if continuing to live without advancing on a lifelong project, against any potential ups and downs that may arise from revealing your project to the world.

Also, if you did go for it and it bombed, would you reasonably be able to recover to a satisfactory degree.

99.9% of big risks flop badly, that's what makes them big risks. There's nothing wrong with taking risks IF you can afford to fail.

Remember history is full of risk takers who made it big but the vast majority lost everything. It wasn't that they didn't work as hard, or did anything morally wrong, truth is thing don't always work out no matter how hard you try.

Personally I'd release a taster first, something to test the waters to see how it's received by the public and establish my reputation. If it's successful take the risk.

Since i dont know what two options you decide on choosing I will say this...
Whatever you go for ALWAYS have Plan A.
The problem with having plan B as ya backup is your setting your plan A to already fail. By not having a backup you a fully invest in what you doing to make it work no matter what.
So whatever you decide i suggest stick with it - PLAN A for ALL the way
