I am asking this question because I'm struggling to know why having little to no desire to take calculated risks are a bad thing. I have minimal desire to take calculated risks because I get more pleasure from prioritizing stability & security. Holding everything else equal, I'd rather play safe than take calculated risks.

No risk no reward. Great things never happened by being timid.
@Chayce I don't care about great things. All that matters to me are minimizing the need to take risk to maximize my happiness.
That’s fine.
It's not other than the boredom
@jamesgoldman I value happiness & pleasure I get from taking minimal risk. Thus, I have minimal need to take risk.
I used to be like that, stuck in a rut not amounting to much then I learned about risk from a very wealthy couple of friends and took chances and made good money
@jamesgoldman I'll be content not taking chances because it interferes with my goal of low-risk, high reward lifestyle.
Don't get the rewards without the risk... everyone I know is in business so takes risks and they get the rewards, the safe wage slaves tend to end up with little to show for their efforts
@jamesgoldman When I talk about low-risk, high reward lifestyle, I am referring to maximizing happiness by minimizing the need to taking risks (e. g. calculated risk).
Yeah calculated risk makes sense, uncalculated risk is watching people throw money away on the lottery
