What are good law‑related careers if I can’t get into law school?

only thing i care about is being a good lawyer but i’m not getting great grades to get in and i have no idea for alternatives.

id love an explanation and ideas on what other careers could interest me, since people in medicine have so many other options (nursing, social worker, psychologist)

I am not so sure Law is a great idea. I was talking to an 18 yo girl on her choices of uni studies.

I did suggest Law and she told me it was a lousy choice. Lots of law grads weren't getting jobs. Both her parents were lawyers and were telling her not to despite them being in a position to help her get work presumably.

Then of course Law is an area that AI can have a profound impact on.

Despite that, Legal Assistant is another entry point. Business and contractual law is a good mix.

i dunno i’m from Spain so i don’t know how things work in america, for example i dunno what Bachillerato would be over their but you need to study hard to get a good medium grade then huge EBAU exams (uni access exams) wirh high marks usually 11 over 14 points in some cases 13 over 14 and then once you’re in you’re in and you’re chilling in uni for like 4 years, the you do a master or “opositar” (dunno how to say it in English) and secure you’re place but it’s draining it’s literally locking yourself indoors just to get the title of a lawyer

I'm Australian but it is fairly similar I expect to US. Aside from University, law grads have to do two years of being an 'articled clerk'. That is they work for a solicitor for two years post graduation for practical training.

There is a possibility that a graduate doesn't get an articled clerkship and hence never becomes a fully fledged lawyer.

On the basis of what that 18 yo girl told me, I think you should be very sure there is plentiful employment and good salaries. Lawyering is exposed to competition from AI.

course material is easy i’m just really lazy

Outside of STEM areas, college does not teach students useful skills for job preparation; it is only an endurance test, and a bachelor's degree proves that you can stay focused and committed to a long term project long enough th get to "mission accomplished." If you can't stay focused enough to do easy work, then you clearly won't be able to handle the requirements of law school.

Perhaps you should consider taking a year off from college because you are currently wasting time and someone's money.

im not even in college it’s high school i just am having a bad year it’s senior year and i’m doing really bad and i have college access exams soon and i have 0 motivation i kind of fell into a depression

Options to explore:

- Policy analyst / legislative aide – shaping laws rather than arguing them.
- Mediation / conflict resolution – resolving disputes without court.
- Court administration / probation / victim advocacy – justice system from another angle.

Also, recheck law‑school options: post‑bacc grades, LSAT strength, and less‑selective schools can change the picture.

Nursing is a 12 hour job per day they run on your feet constantly. You don’t wanna do that you’re married to your job basically you’re better off just trying to be a lawyer

You just have to practice with the attorneys and get them to show you their game and relax you’ll over come the grades eventually
