I commuted when I was in community college, but lived on campus when I was at a university. It was great living on campus and getting to know so many people.

I lived on campus for 3 semesters. Then acouple if years later I went to a crappy commuter college and lived with my mother. I hated it. I ran out of money before I could graduate. A few years later I worked for a company that paid my tuition so I could go at night. I finally graduarlted. It took forever

I didn't go to college (uni) went to a culinary school so I commuted. My partner stayed in the school accommodation his first year of uni then rented a house with friends the second year, we moved in together in his 3rd year

The first college I went to was 98% residential, which meant almost everyone lived on campus. Unfortunately, this was 2009 with the swine flu epidemic, and college students were at risk. It hit my college and combined with other things nearly killed me. After being there for a while I transferred to another college closer to home which was about 50% commuter and I actually commuted there for a year.
