What do you think of people who didn’t graduate from high school?

Do you think of them as lesser, if you even think about them at all?

I do not think any less of them. They might have had a lot of personal of family issues that prevented them from finishing high school. I knew one guy who was left homeless at the age of 15. His dad was an alcoholic and took off to work in a different country, and his step mom up and left out of the blue. He didn't get into "the system" and got a job paying minimum wage and somehow survived.

I knew of other people who just didn't click well with that type of learning, but picked it up later.

I don't judge people based on their education level, or their lack of same. Some of the smartest people I've ever met never graduated, and some of the biggest morons I've ever known have degrees.

A person's education level does not correlate directly to their intelligence, nor does it determine their opinions, or what kind of person they are, which I believe are more important factors upon which to base my opinion of someone

What other people did or didn't do at school is not high on the list of things I think about. I rarely if ever ask anyone about how much school they completed. I'll just talk to them and decide if they're competent or not. Plenty of people who finished college still come across as dumb to me and plenty who didn't finish have more common sense than your average person.

I wouldn't assume anything. Some of the most successful people never graduated.

I’ve coached people with PhDs and people who never finished high school. The pattern I’ve seen: finishing school mainly reflects circumstances, support, and timing—not someone’s worth or potential.

I don’t see non-graduates as lesser. I see people who took different paths: some had to work, some struggled with health, family, or school systems that failed them.

What matters to me is: Are you learning now? Building skills? Taking responsibility for your next step? I’ve watched many non-graduates build excellent careers and deeply fulfilling lives.

I don't assume anything from it, so no... I don't see them as lesser

and the most successful person that I do know directly and personally is still... a "high-school drop out"

but I just really never think about her like that either... just another great friend of mine, lol
