Who most surprised you with how they turned out after high school?

The first guy I became friends with in high school had long, bushy hair and a thick beard and mustache. We became really good friends. We both played electric guitar and used to jam. We went to some rock concerts together. He was a partier and did some drugs but wasn't a druggie.
Years later, he went on to be a high rolling defense attorney who hangs with lots of celebrities.
We are still Facebook friends.

Another guy I knew was kind of a goofy looking dork in high school. He and his younger brother even dealt weed.
Years later, I heard that he became a district attorney.

It wasn't surprising but I had a crush on this girl who learned a couple languages and ended up getting a career in espionage for the government.

I tried to ask her out because I thought she was so smart and cool. But she was like I'm leaving soon and how's it gonna work. 😂

My childhood friends. 4 became millionaires, despite being typical and neutral in high school. Others became highly ranked professionals while never having a reputation for intelligence in their youth. I am just surprised that smart people often fail while common and over looked normal people often become extremely high status.

For me, it was the “quiet, invisible” girl. Super shy, baggy clothes, always reading. Ten years later? Confident, gorgeous, successful business owner, traveling the world, zero pick-me energy.

Meanwhile, the so-called “popular” heartthrob turned into a walking red flag with a beer gut and Facebook rants 😂

Could not connect the dots in real life with other people or career choices.

I did not stay in touch with anyone I knew in high school but I am kind of surprised at how I turned out. I never thought that I would get married and settle down and have kids.
