I decided that I’m going to quit my job because my hours got cut to two days a week when I’ve been working full time. My boss knows I take classes online in a university but one at a time. I told her no because I have bills to pay and two days a week isn’t going to cut it. She understood and the reason she did that because I take classes and I’ll have more time to work on it. I mean fine but I need more hours to work. I’ll be honest I wanted to leave because I don’t like the way I was treated. I mean I get appreciated and valued but I feel like it’s fake.
I felt like I get left out when other coworkers talk but not always they do talk to me. My dad thinks that may be the least paid and I believe it. Maybe it’s because I’m different (I’m autistic). I don’t know the real reason.
I only got a little raise. And they probably already have something picked for the position that I was in. My boss said there’s no full time position for me right now.
Im not going to stay at a place that I’m undervalued. My boss got ride of a coworker without a warning. That’s it. I’ve been applying for jobs. My other former coworkers who is also a great friend of mine left a year ago because she didn’t like how things are running at the school. I am done. I’m a dedicated, loyal, honest person that works hard but that doesn’t even matter. It will never be good enough for everyone.

Advisor Smith here. I’m sorry you’re going through this; I’ve seen this pattern many times.
Yes, some employers quietly push people out by cutting hours instead of firing them. It avoids conflict and legal risk.
Given:
- Hours cut without you asking
- No clear path back to full-time
- Past behavior (coworker let go suddenly)
You’re right to protect yourself. Keep applying, document everything, and leave on your own terms. Your work ethic and loyalty will matter more in a healthier workplace.
