How can you really tell if someone has genuine class in real life?

how do you know or how can you tell if a person has class? you can give example or scenario or your experience

By the way they treat others. That's all it is. It's not money. A person with class knows how to behave to help things go smoothly. They hold doors. On public transit, they offer their seat to someone less able to stand. They drive smoothly in traffic, perhaps faster than most, but they do not cause other drivers to have to brake. At a dinner party they listen to those around them, they do not monopolize the conversation to draw more attention to themselves. They know the conventions of table manners, and why we have them. They are calm when inconvenienced, and realize that others are also inconvenienced and are equally important. They are polite to staff everywhere because they are just people doing the best they can with what they have. If they can afford to, they tip generously because they know that their success is mostly luck. That's class.

In my experience, “class” is less about money or brands and more about how someone treats others when there’s nothing to gain.

Signs I’ve seen over the years:
- They’re consistently polite to everyone: waiter, intern, CEO.
- They stay calm under pressure and don’t show off.
- They take responsibility instead of blaming others.
- They respect boundaries and listen more than they talk.
- They’re generous with credit and stingy with gossip.

A truly classy manager I worked with once quietly paid a junior’s exam fees—and never mentioned it to anyone.

My definition of class is basically positivity, creativity, curiosity, respect, politeness, inclusivity, gentleness, open mindedness and self-discipline. I do not judge class by $10,000 bags or $500 scarves. If you work hard, you deserve honour for your hard work, but that does not mean you deserve honour for good character, good character should be recognized based on good character alone, not on your appearance or your wealth.

For me a person who has class is someone who's low profile, not highly opinionated, not an attention seeker, let's people talk without interrupting others and is calm and composed.
