How do I explain why I left my Chick-fil-A job in a server interview?

I want be a server. I’m tired of warehouse jobs and I lied on resume. I put my warehouse job then list few years ago worked at chick fil la. If they ask why I left that job what I say? I can’t say cuz I moved as there are many chick fil la locations. They don’t like it when I say I want gain restraunt experience or learn new skills they don’t see that as positive thing. I can’t say I needed more hours as they’ll think that’s strange all jobs can change your hours easily. Then it’ll be weird I worked part time there then full time at the warehouse and now at 28 want again work part time as a server? 😓 they don’t like it either if I say I need go to school and have classes. I didn’t get hired by saying this. They need servers all week anytime of day.

As a restaurant owner with over 40 employee's I think I can confirm we don't take much to ask about your previous jobs unless there seems to be a pattern of excessive job changing. To list working at a fast food establishment isn't any surprise as many are very short term employments.

Top questions will be your availability, your age (especially if like here we serve alcohol) and having no prior experience is nothing new as we would have you working several shifts with one of our veteran girls to learn our process. Many of our girls start as a hostess so we can evaluate how you are with customers.
