When I was in sales I had no sick time. One day during the winter I twisted my ankle during a morning sales call. I stepped on a metal storm grate that was very slippery and turned my ankle. Afterwards I went into my office and I took my boots off and I had a pair of high top sneakers that I wore. I worked the whole day and when I was ready to go home I found that I could not get my boot on because it was too swollen. By the time I got home I could not put any weight on it. My wife took off my shoes and socks and saw that my ankle was purple. She made me go to the emergency room and get it X=rayed. It was a bad sprain and not broken. She wrapped it for me and I went back to work the next day.

No, I am a little older and manage my own PTO, however, I never felt good about lying, as a young man I did occasionally. However, go to work if you are able, plan accordingly when you need time off.
