When I was working, sometimes there was nothing to do. But if my boss saw me just sitting there looking bored, I was afraid I would get laid off.
So I taught myself what I call the art of looking busy. I would have paperwork all over my work station, and files and such, and whenever my boss was nearby, I would pick up a paper and start reading it like it was something important. Hehehe 😂
Haha nice!
well, never...
sometimes there's more waiting to do than actual things to do, but that's part of this job, lmao
waiting time to me... that only means I can do something else on the side, I could watch a movie, I could watch series, I could read something, learn something, practice something... create something
I could even work a second job, lol... occupy myself with something else
if you see me here at G@G... 80% chances I am here from working hours too, lol
Never. Even on Sunday shifts when the office is mostly dead, I kill time listening to music
I wish I still had that luxury. That's the one thing I miss that my last job allowed me to have was listening to music.
I had several jobs, many of them were boring. I'd actually love to work as a librarian, it's one of my dream jobs.
It's nice but the traffic is kind of slow I guess because I work at an academic library... it really depends on what type of library you're working in that makes all the difference. If its an academic library, the traffic can be rather slow but if it's a public library then I'm sure it's heavy and pretty busy. Choose wisely if you decide to go this route.
Ok, I will, thanks for the advice :-)
You're welcome! 😊
It really depends on the individual IT project. Some are violent bushfires with all hands on deck and others are three coffee-breaks a day plus an extensive lunch.
My job is kind of challenging when it comes to boredom. There's never a dull moment and I am kept on my toes all the time.
I never get bored!!!
I am very good at interacting with people, I have strong business connections, and I work as a sales manager for a global brandI am very happy with it.
I don't get bored as there is always something going on
I’m busy for the first and last hour or so each day, and very little going on in between.
Very , that's why I'm always online
I never get bored with this at all.
Very rarely.

I’ve been advising and teaching for over 20 years, and my “boredom ratio” has shifted a lot over time.
Early on, I was probably 50% bored—routine admin, repetitive workshops, same questions. That was my signal to redesign my role: I started new programs, mentored more deeply, and built side projects (curriculum design, consulting).
Now I’m maybe 10–15% bored. Every job has dull parts; the key is:
- Add challenge (projects, new skills, niches).
- Increase impact (individual coaching, innovation).
- Build something that’s yours (systems, resources, communities).
Your boredom is useful data, not a verdict.
