If you had the option to only choose between these two jobs, which you choose? This is just a hypothetical. I'm not saying this necessarily happens irl or it at least doesn't happen all the time. If you only receive two job offers out of all the jobs you applied for but your only options are to choose your dream job or choosing a job that is close to where you live with a short commute then which would you choose? Your dream job is thousands of miles from where you live so you would have to move.

You're not excited about the job that is close to where you live. You have a feeling that you'll dislike it or you may even hate it once you start working it. It would be a tough decision for many people to make because some people may not want to move so far away because of family, homesickness, or other reasons. At the same time, no one likes being stuck in a job he/she hates. It would be a hard decision for me to make too if I had to make it.

So I barely learned about financial literacy until my early 20s when I started working as a nurse for a wealthy caucasian family. The daughter pulled me to the side and said ," you're young are you investing in your future? Life insurance policies, 401k, ira , stocks etc. You should ve contributing x amount to this so by the time you're this age you have x amount of money." I had no idea wtf she was talking about then she educated me and from there I did my research and opened an ira then dumped 48k in my early 20s.

I work at a gym as a junior fitness advisor. My boss is a real male chauvinist pig and makes all his female employees (myself included) have a strict dress code.

He demands that all female employees must wear either a thong or a gstring as underwear and we must wear skin tight leggings and a sports bra.

He says this is to increase the gym's sexual attractiveness which will help bring in more male clients to the gym.

If we disobey the dress code in anyway he says he would fire us on the spot. He's even joked in staff meetings before the female staff should be prostituting ourselves to the male clients after their workouts.

The picture is very similar to our dress code.

I'm curious to know what both genders think about this.

this is all hypothetical, of course. We aren’t allowed to close but I think we should if we cannot keep the children cool.

Pretty much as a guide on what fields to look into more. I've been trying to plan my life as detailed as possible these past few years but my career/work life is the only area I'm uncertain of. As far as I remember, I was always looking forwards to becoming an engineer and maybe studying physics on the side but most of the people I know are encouraging me to look more into Nursing or Teaching. Both are due to the ability to directly help people and a lot of the people close to me work in these fields. however, choosing a career without looking into it and its future prospects seems like a bad idea to say the least.

... what do you think about each field? why would you pick it?

I'm working with my client and her 5 year old brother comes in unsupervised talking, saying look at me, bringing in all his toys, then ask me for a pen then looks in my bag while I'm in the middle of care. I told him not to look in my bag then proceeded with ignoring him by acting super busy until he went away several times until he was gone for good🤣. I know there's a camera in the room. And the mom had an attitude when I was leaving.

I used to think I worked at a great office with a wonderful team. I thought everyone respected me and valued my hard work.

Two months ago I head from a manager that one of the other senior staff members were looking to hire another member for their team. I applied for the position and the senior staff member told me that they were viewing other resumes too but that I would make a great addition to the team. He also told me he would keep me updated on the status.

He never updated me. Two days ago I find out through a corporate email that they hired someone for that team. I’m unsure if it was for the position I applied for. I reached out to the senior staff member if there was any updates on the position I applied to. There’s been no response so far.

I always help him out in meetings and honestly feel so disrespected. Makes me feel like hard work gets taken advantage of and not appreciated.
