I love science!

So as I've mentioned my client is in the hospital for surgery and has been there since February 3rd. Wheb the client is in the hospital im OFF duty. Meaning hospital takes over then when she's released i resume care in home.

I do not text the mom is continuously texting me daily nonstop things like," they have her sitting up today, she's lying on her back today, she ate today." I've just gotten to the point where I ignore her text. Anyways last night at 10pm. Yes 10pm she sends me this message with a picture of the child: "She laid on her back tonight... I haven't seen this in a long time."

I feel this is rude, inconsiderate, inappropriate, and overstepping boundaries. What would you say to her?


My response:I'm confused was this message sent earlier today? It's 10pm at night. I'm not sure why I'm getting messages at 10pm?

how would you feel in this situation, advice needed:

family 1: you're a nanny for the child but the child is in the hospital to your job gets you temporary placement to help out with family #2.

family 2: Its day 1 orientation. While here temporarily you feel things go great. Then near the end of your shift the mom says, " I feel like your loyalty is to the other family so I don't feel like you're all in with my child. so I will be looking through other agencies for another nanny. so there will be a day where I tell the agency don't send you because I will be meeting other nannies who can work here permanently. And I don't know if you're going to stick to family 1 or be with us. "

so you tell your employer ," I won't return because you feel like the mom of family 2 wasn't pleased with your work." Yet mom of family 2 tells your employer they liked you after saying the above things to you. Would you still want to work with family 2? or would you feel like family 2 didn't like you?

Family 1 Background info: I have a client I work with who is a young girl 18. She's currently getting surgery so she's in the hospital and will be there for a month. Anyways, she is a vegetable no offense but I blame that on the parents for waiting so long and not taking medical advice. I dont feel the client is progressing and she hasn't since I've known her. Her parents are in denial of her mental capacity.

Family 2 Now: I met a new family while my client is in the hospital to work with. I like this client a whole lot better. Her parents are progressive, open to advancing their child, open to me helping their child out in learning and from a medical prospective they're more of a team effort. The little girl is so much fun and full of life. The environment is beautiful. They want someone long term for their child. And her condition is complicated which I like because I would love to learn more about children with her type of conditions. They want her to go to school but need a school nurse. I want her to go to school and learn.

Would you stick to family 1 or venture out to family #2?

I am very curious to know which is a better investment. Career growth potential? Cost? Admission?

I don't think admission would be my biggest issue, I am a seasoned public speaker, as well as an honors student. I do debate, but at the same time, I excel in science. The big issue is that I am not rich lol. On a surface level, which would you choose?

Personally, I am leaning towards a law career as studying the law and government comes very easy to me, and every year more and more people try to get into med school. Also, my parents are friends with many doctors and lawyers, and lawyers seem to have more autonomy and free time and are less depressed lmao

Classes were only two days a week and my schools were all only 20 mins from home so I definitely chose to stay home. Dorms were like $4,000 a semester and not worth it in my opinion. I’m not a people person and would’ve hated rooming with a stranger. I would’ve like to be the resident dorm person but they’re often hated for being strict about curfew and co-ed stuff so I rather not. I dont regret staying home. I just regret how much of a waste college was lmao. Anyways, my school always threw events that anyone could attend, student or not, on campus or not. So no one ever truly knew who attended there. At my first school, I never attended a game but at my second, I attended at least 3 that whole year haha. Football and baseball games were just excuses to meet hot guys during tailgating anyways 😂

So I work in homecare where RN and BSN make the same pay. While some places want you to have BSN for leadership type role which doesn't matter in some places because RN is what's essentially needed for a leadership role. Places like hospitals want you to have the BSN or jobs where you are a director of nursing. Other than that doesn't matter. Should I get my BSN just in case I change plans in the future which is only a 12-16 month program. Or Just focus on what I have? plus once you get your bsn you can go bsn to NP ( nurse practitioner). But still there are more RN jobs than nurse practitioner.
