What are the different ways people are finding a job these days?

One of the last 6 jobs I got was via the internet. Apparently, I'd contacted this guy a year or so before and he said he'd get in touch with me if he needed my help. I DO recall him saying that but I don't recall anything else about how I got in touch with him or what was said. So, one day, he writes me back to ask if I'd still be interested in helping him out with a project. I said I did, so, he sent me the script of all the lines he wanted me to say and I went about recording the 16 different voices he needed to have them say those lines, edited them on the computer and sent him the collection of MP3's I made from them and he used them all in his movie.
Otherwise, it's either ads in the papers, word of mouth, signs in the window, or through various temp agencies. A few times it was just me going to that place and asking for a job. A couple times, I tried to create my own businesses. If I can ever get the basement cleaned out, I hope to do that again, soon.
One place you can look is Craig's List, that's where I got the movie jobs.
@FunkyMonkee thank you for sharing your great ideas. Hopefully someone reading your opinion might use your ways to find a job. 👍
No problem, hun!
I also get e-mails at least once a day from Indeed. com alerting me of potential jobs. As I set them up to look for voice acting work, that's what most of them are but they DO send other jobs, as well. Sadly, I'm no longer set up for voice acting work so, I can't get into it that but, hopefully, I can get all my recording gear back up here soon and get back into it.
I look at Zip Recruiter. I have gotten a few interviews but no job yet. At least you get notified if somebody looked at your application. I also look at HigherEd. com. I got a job from that 3 years ago.

I have been renting office space from another attorney for 10 years. He had surgery in November and I volunteered to keep his practice going while he was recuperating. When he returned to work, he was so grateful that he offered me a job.
My girlfriend moved from her hometown to mine to live with me. She went to my office everyday because it was better that her staying at home and being alone. The other attorney need someone for a clerical position, he already knew her, and he liked her, so he offered her the job.
It is an extreme example of networking.
I would appear in person to inquire about a job.
I my area you fall over help wanted signs and the newspaper have several job offers in them.
Just need the desire to work and be a responsible person!
They are not. If you believe unemployment numbers Gov't is giving out , I have a bridge in space I will see you. No cashiers here and no stockers in stores. No fast food workers either. Just bartenders and hostess jobs.
