10 Songs about babies

Alright! So, this is a my take about baby songs. The first few kind of came to me others I really had to dig for. Now I held myself to something, I had to know the baby songs and they had to be about babies not...

10 Songs about babies

Or at least have a strong connection to babies which are two of my songs I suppose I will start those. and again this is not a top ten! they are just numbered for reference.

1. The Minute I Saw You - John Parr (1987 (can't find the date for the life of me so it's the date the movie came out...)

10 Songs about babies

Ok so, this first one I'm pretty sure is about a girl relationship but it is so close to being about a baby by changing a couple of lyrics. But the reason it's here is because it was a major song for the movie three men and a baby. Which is a classic movie about three men trying to learn how to take care of a baby by themselves. It is such a sweet movie and a really uplifting song. I can't help think of it being related to a baby every time I hear it! and on the last video it's pretty crappy but wait till the end and you will see the song featured with a picture of all them with the baby.

and with these lyrics you can see why

"Something happened baby in my life The minute i saw you All the others faded from my life
The minute i saw you Hold me, hold me All i wanna do is kiss your baby face Hold me, hold me I wanna wrap you in my arms so i know you're safe"

2. Let My Love Open the Door- Pete Townshend (1980)

Here's another song featured in a movie that I can't not think about Look's Who's Talking every time I hear it. Which is a movie based on a kid that has an adult brain or rather thinks like an adult and you can hear his thought via Bruce Willis .

It has a simple set of lyrics

"Let my love open the door Let my love open the door Let my love open the door To your heart"

But it has a great hook and a great beat and it's fun to listen to! Every time I hear it I think about the main baby floating around inside of the mothers body, even though that was I get around by the Beach Boys.

3. Isn't She Lovely- Stevie Wonder (1976)

10 Songs about babies

This is a classic Stevie Wonder tune and I actually did not know it was about a baby until I listened to the lyrics..

"Isn't she lovely Isn't she wonderful Isn't she precious Less than one minute old I never thought through love we'd be Making one as lovely as she But isn't she lovely made from love"

It is already a great song and it being about a baby makes it even sweeter.

as a special treat, I am going to include a picture show of Birdo and Yoshi that I made Because I thought it was hilarious pairing it up with this song and I had a considerable about of fun and a lot of time putting the slide show together

4. Just the Two of Us- Will Smith (1997)

10 Songs about babies

This can be seen as being about his grown up son but this is about his whole life

"From the hospital that first night Took a hour just ta get the carseat in right People drivin' all fast, got me kinda upset Got you home safe, placed you in your basonette That night I don't think one wink I slept As I slipped out my bed, to your crib I crept Touched your head gently, felt my heart melt
'Cause I know I loved you more than life itself"

and babies are featured in the video! It's a classic Will Smith song that brings strong feelings for almost all the dad's that hear it. I know I would struggle and feel the same way as Will does and it does great commentary and summery about feelings and struggles of being a father.

5. Sweet Baby James -James Taylor (1970)

10 Songs about babies

Now this song is clearly not about a baby and it seems to refer to a cowboy's pet name. However, I can not help but think of it relating to a baby because of lyric

"Goodnight you moonlight ladies Rockabye sweet baby James Deep greens and blues are the colors I choose Won't you let me go down in my dreams And rockabye sweet baby James"

But this is mainly because my parents used James Taylor to calm me down as a baby. When I would start crying they would put this on and I would stop crying and suck on my pacifier and go back to sleep. and the kicker is my middle name is James.

6. Mary Did You Know?- Various Artists (1991)

Such powerful lyrics!

"Mary did you know that your baby boy would one day walk on water? Mary did you know that your baby boy would save our sons and daughters? Did you know that your baby boy has come to make you new? This child that you've delivered, will soon deliver you Mary did you know that your baby boy will give sight to a blind man? Mary did you know that your baby boy will calm a storm with his hand?
Did you know that your baby boy has walked where angels trod? When you kiss your little baby, you kiss the face of God"

It's one of those songs that captures all the things you would think about, if you ever starting thinking what Mary thought. What did Mary think? How would Mary have reacted if she knew? So many what if's. The that strikes me the most, "this child you're delivered, will soon deliver you"! It is just amazing to think about. Such a humbling and honoring experience at the same time.

7. Wild World- Cat Stevens (1970)

10 Songs about babies

Again this song is not specifically about babies but I could just see myself singing this to my baby

"Oh baby baby it's a wild world It's hard to get by just upon a smile Oh baby baby it's a wild world
I'll always remember you like a child, girl You know I've seen a lot of what the world can do
And it's breaking my heart in two 'Cause I never want to see you sad girl Don't be a bad girl
But if you want to leave take good care Hope you make a lot of nice friends out there But just remember there's a lot of bad and beware Beware"

It's a song about adults but it has a feeling like it is written for a child and something that you would sing to your baby.

8. With Arms Wide Open- Creed (1999)

10 Songs about babies

This is a corny song but it is totally about a baby!

"Well I just heard the news today It seems my life is going to change I close my eyes, begin to pray
Then tears of joy stream down my face"

"Well I don't know if I'm ready To be the man I have to be I'll take a breath, I'll take her by my side
We stand in awe, we've created life"

I know I remember hearing this on the radio all the time but I really did not connect that it was a song about a baby until later. It is really a great song and anthem for a father! Imagine a acoustic cover! That would be powerful stuff!

9. Mr. Mom- Lonestar (2004)

10 Songs about babies

This is about being a stay at home dad but look at the freeze frame on the video, the baby is a consistent theme in the video and

"Pampers melt in a Maytag dryer Crayons go up one drawer higher Rewind Barney for the fifteenth time Breakfast six, naps at nine There's bubble gum in the baby's hair"

Babies are clearly a theme to this song. and the video is so much fun to watch!! Such an entertaining video! and it kind of gives you a small taste of what mom's go through

10. Baby Mine- Disney's Dumbo (1941)

10 Songs about babies

This is such a sweet song and it is really cute to see all the animals with their babies. I remembered this classic as a kid but forgot about it and was reminded about it when I was searching.

"Baby mine, don't you cry Baby mine, dry your eyes Rest your head close to my heart Never to part
Baby of mine Little one, when you play Don't you mind what they say Let those eyes sparkle and shine
Never a tear Baby of mine"

This was such a precious and unforgettable moment of the movie so much so that it's featured in the new trailer which I am excited about!

I hope you guys connected with some of the songs on my list and I am excited to hear what baby songs are! What songs did you parents sing to you or what songs do you think sound more like baby songs? Post them in the comments I'd love to see them! Thanks for reading!
