Music means a lot to me, as it does a lot of people. I find a lot of music videos boring as I don't like ones just where you see the singer and not a lot else. I studied film and I like beautful shot pieces or creativity. In no particular order, these are my top ones that have stuck in my mind for a long time ♫♪
1. Good Charlotte ~ Predictable
Good Charlotte was one of the first bands I got into when discovering rock music and this music video to me is wonderful. I love the contrast between dark and light, the animation aspects and how it has a cartoonish feel to it, kinda reminds me of the street in Edward Scissorhands! I used this for inspiration for a short story once.
2. Cradle Of Filth ~ Nymphetamine
I love how beautifully gothic this video is, I used this video as inspiration too for some coursework to experiment with lighting at uni!
3. Marilyn Manson ~ Dope Hat
I LOVE the dark Charlie and the Chocolate factory theme present in this so much, and the surrealism in the background. The editing is pretty terrible but to me that just adds to the feel of it <3
4. Guns N' Roses~ Estranged
Apart from Axl Rose looking so hot here, I just love the part where he's swimming with the dolphins and reaches out to touch one and the water all changes.
5. Metallica~ Here Comes Revenge
The animation! The storyline! Enough said <3
6. Poets of the Fall~ Carnival of Rust
I love the concept of the abandoned theme park, the eeriness you can feel and the whole colour scheme.
7. Nine Inch Nails~ Deep
When I first saw this I was a little confused, but I just really like this idea.
