Stephen Reviews: Ralph Breaks The Internet

Being a Disney fan and Wreck-It Ralph is one of my favorites, I decided to watch Ralph Breaks The Internet.
I will admit at first I was skeptical of the movie thinking it was going to pretty much be a standard sequel, but this one kinda lives up to the hype.

The movie overall is about Vanellope more so than Ralph.
Her game Sugar Rush gets broken and they go to the internet to find a replacement part.
Along the way they run into popup ads which one entices them to steal a car from a game called Slaughter Race.
They also run into several characters along the way.
The movie becomes about Vanellope and Ralph's friendship as Vanellope is feeling that Ralph is a
little too possessive of her.
Ralph feeling jealous of Vanellope's new friend in Slaughter race unleashes a virus from the dark web which ends up going awry.

The movie does end on a happy but sad note as well.

Pros:

This movie has a great story and a great cast. There are a ton of cameos from CP3O, Groot, Buzz Lightyear, Sonic the Hedgehog, Tinkerbell, and The Disney Princesses as well as other Disney and video game characters. John C Reily, Sarah Silverman, Jane Lynch, and Jack Mcbrayer all reprise their roles while Gal Gadot, Taraji P Henson, Mandy Moore, Idina Menzel, Kirsten Bell, Bill Hader, Alan Tudyk, Tim Allen, Vin Diesel, and Brad Garrett as cameos and supporting roles most of them reprising their Disney roles. The movie is not sickly sweet but has its sentimental moments.

Cons:

While a good movie there a couple cons I have to point out. There is a ton of product placement. From Amazon, Google, Carvana, to Facebook and eBay and everything in between. So in a way, it's kinda like one big commercial. Some of the jokes and pop culture references are kinda dated and don't really hold up. The movie until about the Princess scene kinda drags on. But it does pick up steam from there.

Overall I give this movie 4 out of 5 on the rating scale. It was a good film and better than what I was expecting. It's actually as equally as good as the first movie. I'm not anticipating a third film though because it doesn't need one. If you get a chance to see it you should give it a chance especially if you're a Disney nerd.
