Why most metalheads are nerdy looking?

They were supposed to be tough guys, wearing leather riding bikes and carrying chains... something like that:

But, most of them actually look like that:

Anyone noticed that? Guess the first image represents what they would like, to look like.

Tbh the first guy doesn't really look like a metalhead. Old school metalheads wear beards, bandshirts and vests with a bunch of patches from their favorite bands. Also who the hell cares what they wear or how they look like. It's one of the few subcultures that's still more connected by music than by clothes.

The first guy looks like a hipster who would be in charge of an art gallery. Nothing wrong with that, but he certainly doesn't strike me as the tough biker type.

Metal fans look how metal fans look and metal fans look different from one another. I see no issue with that

At metal concerts I have seen people dress a lot of different ways. I have seen a lot of women also.
