If you don't know who Jason Momoa is, he's an actor and was in GOT and Aquaman. So recently a picture was released by US Weekly and people starting body shaming him asking where is his six pack and saying he has a dad bod. I've included the picture below. What are your thoughts on this? I think people are ridiculous and they wish Jason Momoa had a dad bod because then it would make all the little trolls feel better about their dad bods. Jason's body is still fit, still attractive and he is still a very good looking man. Him being body shame just goes to show that society has no idea what it's talking about.

This is actually quite a non-story, Philip DeFranco already covered this and he came to the conclusion that literally a handful of people commented something unnecessary about his body. The rest has just been public outrage. And while I do think it's important to talk about body shaming and body image, including male body shaming and body image, I think this amount of outrage over just a few comments is silly. People are acting as if thousands of people were on a manhunt for him and spamming him with death threats, when that really isn't the case at all.

They are hypocrites, they are most likely the same people who promote “fat acceptance” but not when it’s a guy in question. Would they be saying the same stuff if it was a female celeb who got out of shape?
Besides, he’s not even chubby. I don’t know what these people are complaining about. That picture shows Jason in his normal state. He’s still huge, it’s just that he’s not toned from living at the gym. Maintaining both a toned and muscular body is beyond stressful, there’s no way a guy can stay in that shape for too long.
It's internet. People are body shaming, mom shaming, life shaming and breath shaming all the famous people on a daily basis in order to feed their own ego, angst, jealousy and flaws. It's nothing new.
The guy is still fit and his particular muscular body was entirely for the movie. He could've use some enhancements just to prepare for the role, Plain and simple. We need to let people be.

It's blown so far out of proportion. I tried looking for all these people body shaming him, and there was like, maybe 10-20 people that I could see actually calling it a dad bod. just goes to show how desperate news is nowadays. They'll take the most minor of things and blow it up to make a story
I think it’s because people have gotten so used to that steroided up Hollywood and body builder look. When you see someone who doesn’t look ripped to the gills, comparatively it seems like they have fallen off or something.
But really, it was Hollywood digital adjustments that made him look so ripped and buff in the movies.
What I see is a guy who is physically much stronger than he'd be if he were exclusively muscle. Fat actually helps you be more fit overall. You know his fat% is low at a glance so he's very healthy so that's not a worry. When it comes down to it, having some fat with the muscle allows your body to eat away the fat instead of the muscle. In other words, he's got a lot more energy and endurance than he would have if his body were exclusively muscles. WHICH IS A GOOD THING!
Even people with lower body fats than that have plenty of reserve energy though. I mean we cannot really burn a pound of fat in a day unless we do some serious exercising and that's just one pound without eating anything. This guy's in great shape though.
@cavmanier the thing is people associate a lack of fat with strength when, in fact, it's often those who have a lot of muscle balanced with fat that have most impressive actual strength.
That is true that having more fat makes having more muscle easier so overall strength is higher. The downside is they can lose some functional strength when applying strength when dexterity and endurance is needed. Boulder lifting would be pure strength where fat doesn't hurt much but pulling a car would negatively affect having extra weight.

Well the problem is when it comes to movie time, he looks like a fine specimen of the male species... at top shape and the epitome of what women want a man to look like
sadly fitness is not always their thing, they simply do it for movies... maybe even take small doses of drugs to help them. Then later revert back to their old habits, hence gaining small belly and losing all his definition from over eating - which is less attractive than a guy that is consistent
People need to find hobbies or something instead of tearing other people down over minor things. Six packs are hard to maintain and even though he doesn’t have one anymore he’s still in great shape.

Not everyone wants to maintain being low body fat all the time, and it's actually not good for your health under a certain body fat percentage, that's why bodybuilders/models do cuts for competition season, then after that they get back to a normal percentage.

"body shamed" is a cultural Marxist term used to attempt redistribution from the oppressor class to the oppressed class. Communist absurdities aren't words. The dude is kind of chunky, he knows how to get the fat off if he wants and he's a grown man. Let him deal with it.

It's not the end of the world; many athletes and movie stars have ebbs and flows in terms of their bodies. This is nothing new. Look at the magazines in your local stores and how many of them "body shame" them? Most of them do. Because of their reputation and being on screen, there is just an innate standard and expectation for what they ought to look like.
The term "body shamed" is erroneous and stupid and no one should use it. Saying that someone isn't attractive is not "body shaming." Like saying if someone's tall you're "tall shaming" or some shit uhhh, what? No.
Anyway, he's looked better. That's why people are saying it-- they've seen him in his prime so anything less than that they think is weird, because that's what they're used to.

Those who are body shaming are probably trolls who are jealous nobody's hiding behind a screen. I think the best thing to do is to stop giving these people the time of day and not write articles about them but instead ignore them completely just like Jason has been doing he is ignoring them completely and he has just been going out there and living his life enjoying every moment
You could say that he doe not have the six pack he used to have but he is still in better shape than 90% of those fat twitter fucks who eat by the boatload everyday and couldn't get laid even if you paid the other person.
He's a celebrity everyone is going to have an opinion. He could between films or something you never really know, but because he's famous people are always going to criticize. They did the same thing with Wentworth Miller, Gerard Butler, Christian Bale etc. I think people generally just forget that famous people have a life too.
What people don't know is that maintaining a six-pack year round is nearly impossible it would be too hard and. Unenjoyable and unhealthy because your body can't stay in a deprived state for long so a body like his or slightly leaner is perfect for maintenance... anything else is only for summer/movie shoot/wedding or any kind of special occasion
It wouldn't be unhealthy to have a six-pack year-round. I think he just only does intense ab training for when he's doing movie roles. But I do agree that certain bodyfat percentages are not healthy though. But I think that's only around 6% or less. Depending on the person abdominal muscle thickness, abs could probably still be seen even in 15 body fat percentage.

You can have a six pack when your stomach is empty but not when there’s food in there. Seen it. To have the kind that is always there I guess you’d be on a liquid diet
Very very true except the liquid diet part. I have a flat six pack in the morning, but a bit of bloat by evening because it takes so much food to maintain weight. Hydration is also a huge factor. Bodybuilders don't just get lean for a show, they have to get "dry" as well. You can literally go from "cut" to "shredded" in six days by doing a water cut.
