Some of her songs are
Ocean Eyes
All good girls go to hell
Bad guy

Bellyache

Very impressive that a person can have this much talent whether you like or not it still should be respected. I would not be that deep into her music to study lyrics so forth but I find her study very catchy and might stop to listen if I had radio on in the background when her songs come on.
Personality and attitude, I have the benefit of being an old man here, when a 15/16/17/18 year old comes through and is in the fishbowl of media spotlight, my overriding reaction is "They are a teenager with the same feelings and emotions as most other teenagers, they are doing the same things except the celebrities have a thousand fold of social media followers and press watching their every move" so unless they are doing anything really harmful to themselves or others it will be none of my concern unless it interests me like say the points Greta Thumberg raises.
After seeing videos of interviews with Billie and listening to her music, I think that she uses music as an outlet to express the emotional turmoil in het head. I think making music is her therapy.
I don't doubt that she is having some fun going on tour and making money. But I sense that deep down she carries a tremendous burdeon of sadness.
I have watu ched her videos for the sake of saying I am familiar with who she was. I don't call what she does as entertainment. How someone could be entertained by what she does amazes me. Another thing I cannot believe are the prices that people are paying to see her perform. I see around 30 concerts a year and I wouldn't even go see her even if I won tickets.
All Good Girls Go to Hell is one of my faves.
I enjoy her sound, the production, and her lyrics. Her individual story is also pretty interesting, and not what I expected from her music - but this impresses me. She's got some great stuff.
I don't really have opinions on style and attitude, or things like that.

I think she is very interesting. I discovered her last year, and really like some of her songs, though not all. But that doesn't matter. There's enough good stuff there for me to keep looking, keep an eye on her.
I saw an interview with her. I think it may have been on Kimmel. She's got a very good head on her shoulders for her age. She's been extremely successful, yet is still living a reasonably normal life, with her parents, etc. I think she's smart, and individualistic, and won't cave entirely on the weight of her own success or the entertainment business itself. I have high hopes for her. I wish her well. She seems to deserve it.
I like her. Those "weird, disturbing videos" shows that she's not afraid to experiment, she's got a better understanding of surrealism than a lot of performers who just borrow from it because it "looks cool". If she keeps it up, she could become the American PJ Harvey when she gets older.
Pretty negative imagery and negative material. Do we really want that kind of influence in our civilization that we created to help us survive? I'd rather see real beauty in music , in people's attitudes in visual art. I think we've had enough of this destructive influence.
Because music producers decide who becomes famous. They choose which artists get prominently featured on spotify, the radio, etc. Think about boy bands. To find good music you have to dig, and most people will consume whatever is presented to them because it's easier.
@DanielStark Definitely and this is our problem. The people at the top are working against us and will continue to dump this filth on us. It reminds me of medieval armies hurling dead corpses over castle walls to sicken the defenders. They inject this disease right into our civilization's blood stream.
Seems like a cool enough person to hang out with, but her music isn't anything special and not my type of music anyway. Someone told me it's called "anti-pop" or something, is that true? Cuz it just sounds like pop to me, from the few songs I've heard at least.
Everyone has the right to their own oppinion. Not everyone will like it. Personally, I think its decent. She isn't my favorite but I like some songs. Weird is unique and we need more of that in this world. Too many people wanna be someone else and it sucks. She is obviously going her own way and I like that.
She's growing on me.
I was listening to the Korean rapper Tablo's (from Epik High) pod cast and he was says that when he went to his 10 year old daughter's Spotify account to see her top 10 singers playlist he wasn't on it. Billie Ellish was on the top of her playlist.
I think calling what she does music is disrespecting, well "music".
I'm a fan of just about all gendrs of music but only if it has taste, hers is just tasteless and just focused on how provocative she is well she's not.
As a musician and studier of music I have to say it is music but that doesn't mean you have to like it or it is good. I don't find it good and more generic than anything.
Oh, no disrespect felt my dude. Personally I don't like the music industry, especially lately. Most pop music today lacks soul, so we both agree on that point. Basically, I will acknowledge that it is music but it isn't good at all. Also, I didn't mean to come off as disrespectful to you or rude. If I did so, I apologise and wanted a conversation more than anything.
I won't lie that she has talent, but her music is miserable. It makes me feel miserable. Why do I want to hear that? I want to listen to something up lifting, something with energy. Not whispering creepily into the microphone.

So far her only song that I love is the LOVELY with Khalid. I have her new album, WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, but I don't seem to like any of the songs on the album. This always happens to me. I come across a song by an artist and decide to get their album only to be disappointed by their songs on the albums.
Her music is okay, but honestly she doesn’t have the best voice for a singer. She sings in a very soft way. You can’t compare her with singers like Mariah Carey, Amy Winehouse, Frank Sinatra or Elvis Presley. In that way her voice is mediocre but the melody enjoyable
Terrible, only heard one song but it from the lyrics she sounds like she has severe psychological disorders. I find it very depressing that this is the kind of misanthropic swill that's being pumped by the music moguls to kids these days.
I surprisingly love her music. there's just something eccentric about it but her voice soothes me. One of my favorites from her is Everything I wanted. I could relate to that song in so many levels.
Some songs are very impressive for a girl her age. That is of course if she writes them herself, I am unsure if she is the creator or just the singer.

@DanielStark music producers want all of their projects to go big, that's just more profit for them but not all of the songs manage to be successful in that manner. I googled, she and her brother write the songs. Her brother is the producer too
sure, if you believe that I have a bridge to sell ya
@DanielStark her brother is a producer and producers deal with this stuff. What's so hard to believe?
If you think two nobodies can get that famous without powerful outside help, you have a lot to learn about the world.
@DanielStark they signed a contract with a very powerful recording studio I'm sure but that was not take away from the fact that only two people create these songs. Studio polishes them up a bit I'm sure, but still
The point isn't who is writing the songs it's what the songs instill in the psyche of the target population. Go read the lyrics to the songs, they are horribly misanthropic. Why choose to uplift an artist who indulges so heavily in apathy, vice and insecurity? I doubt their motives are virtuous. That's my only point, it's bad for your mental health. And I suspect this is by design. Music producers tend to be terrible people. Like Harvey Weinstein for example. He was a movie producer but it's a very similar type of person in both fields, many of them do both. Insecure, mentally unsound girls are easier to exploit, scum like HW want this to happen, so they promote people who will have this effect on their audiences.
@DanielStark I don't think they consciously try to put a bad message out there, they just try to make something that will sound popular and catchy. Other songs simply come from their experiences and feelings so you can blame what they write about makes them a bad person but it's not their intention to give bad influence. We need all kinds of songs to relate to, not all of them can be about doing the right thing. Harvey was a monster, but there is no need to assume all successful people who have a big influence are like that
No except for the 100s of other examples of people in that industry who have been caught doing stuff like that... and you have no idea what their intentions are. I don't understand how you could be so naiive. Don't go out alone at night, and dont talk to strangers because you are an easy mark.
@DanielStark I am not naive in any way, but I also don't see everyone as the enemy and expect the worst of people I've never met. SOME of them do this, you cannot hatefully just accuse anybody before any proof just because someone else in the same industry is doing these things
Tbh I like Billie Eilish. She seems very genuine and humble and I love that. Her music is decent too, but I agree that some themes are disturbing. I just listen to what I like and not the songs that I find creepy.
I only heard one song and it's the bad guy one I believe.
She's not even singing she's like mumbling the whole time. I personally would not call that music.
So no I don't like her or her "music" at all.
Decent voice, I dont get the overly melodramatic lyrics, but her songs aren't written for me and I know that, she's targeting a different audience than me and that's okay.
She's cute tho.
She’s cute and love the spunk. Never listened to the music though
She scares the hell outta me honestly, I understand experimenting with stuff for videos, but her lyrics are what creep me out. Just don't understand the hype other than knowing she's another music industry "plug" 🤷♀️
As a person I think she's quite genuine and down to earth and I'm a fan of some of her music mainly the more experimental less pop music like everything I wanted and bury a friend
She’s a rich girl from hipster parents. She’s certainly not the greatest artist of all time. But we’re in a drought of good music. So maybe right now it’s considered good, but 20, 30, 40 years ago? Forget about it.
