Catan and Robinson Crusoe are strategy games that are more complex than an average game, but they aren't that complex.

As a child I loved games of all kinds. Now I find complex board games boring. Simpler games like Clue and Sorry can be fun -- the rules are very simple but they are still interesting. Mostly I prefer the old games: bridge, poker, backgammon, and Scrabble. But those are only interesting when your opponent is equally skilled.

that's too bad, both of them are extremely fun, Robinson Crusoe is also a 1 person game which you can learn by yourself, at least that how I learned.
